Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
Hello, I tried to upgrade my phone from 1.1.4 version to 2.0 but it wipe out all that is in it and I now only see the itune USB plug in sign on my iphone. I tried to restore it back to 1.1.4 version for several time, but will give me an unknown error (20) occuring all the time. Can anyone please tell me how to restore it back to 1.1.4 version. Also, it always show a message on the itune that says: The SIM card inserted in the iphone does not appear to be supported. Although, I bought the iphone in USA but brought it to UK where it was unlocked and I am using it with other service providers. I even input the O2 simcard but not still working. I need anyone help please.
Try this tijanotu:
You will need these files/program:
1. Ziphone 3.0 program
2. Ziphone Firmware Files 1.1.2, AND 1.1.4. To get these files open Ziphone 3.0 then Click Help and Support, then middle box on top of page Web Links Firmware Files 1.1.2 and 1.1.4 (to make it easier to find I always save everything to the desktop)
3. Kiphone http://www.iclarified.com/entry/comments.php?page=1&enid=1536#commentsanchor
Not sure if all these steps are needed for success, I am just putting it all down becuase this is exactly what I did to get my cell signal back.
First, I uninstalled itunes 7.7.
Then I downloaded and installed itunes 7.5. At this point you will have to rename your itunes libray folder. Instructions are here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1504
Next I downgraded the iphone to 1.1.2 using the link above.
Connect phone to computer
Open Ziphone 3.0
Click on Prepare for Upgrade (this will put iphone into DFU mode)
Now you have to restore using itunes 7.5 (which will open up as soon as the iphone goes into DFU mode.)
In itunes hold down SHIFT key (FOR WINDOWS) while pressing RESTORE. This will allow you to browse for the firmware file 1.1.2 you previously downloaded. Click on the 1.1.2 restore file and hit OPEN. This will begin the restoring process.
You will probably get an error code noting the restore wasn't successful. Ignore this unless the error code number is in the 1600's.
After this I tried to jailbreak my iphone using Ziphone 3.0 but wasn't successful so I:
Repeated the restore process but his time restoring to 1.1.4. Got the same error saying that restore wasn't successful, which I ignored.
Then I closed itunes, went into Ziphone 3.0 (iphone still connected to computer) and clicked on Do it all!
Jailbreak worked fine except I still had no cell signal.
To fix this I went to:
Iclarified, (the BEST iphone website *******!!) Got Kiphone patch (see Number 3 above) installed it and got my cell service back.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
