There is NO need to purchase the whole housing and bulb assembly as mentioned by Dan in Solution #1. Just buy the bulb. Amazon currently has it for $91.99 found here .

For some great instructions on replacing the bulb, go here for a video on YouTube. fyi

When you order the lamp assembly, it should come with complete instructions on how to replace it. Most have pictures as well. The part number is: AZ684020 and cost $437.74 from You may be able to find a generic replacement for less money.

This does sound like a color wheel. To my knowlege, Toshiba does not sell the Color Wheel seporately. In short, you have to replace the Opical Block. The cost of this is very exspensive and Toshiba may not sell it to you. You may have to go through a Toshiba Service facility to obtain it. Check prices of new LCD sets before investing the money.
Hope this helps,

No picture

Pull the front cover off at the bottom. You will see a panel which has to be removed using a screw driver. Inside you will see the lamp assembly. It is a removable box. The lamp can be changed out by just changing out the connections on the new lamp. Before you pull it though try reducing your picture size to 4:3 it helped us to get a little more life out of our lamp.

Sounds like the color wheel shattered. If you google it, you should find information about replacement parts and installation. I had to go through the same thing a couple years ago.

The new bulb that went bad I purchased for less than $130.00 from . When I called them they immediatly sent me a new bulb free. Their number is 1-619-710-2637. A very good coumpany to do business with. They are also considering selling ballast for dlp TV's for around $200.00. The TV repair place that I have been going to told me that maybe the ballast made the bulb go out and it would cost between $600.00 and 800.00 to have them fix it. My TV is a Mitsubishi WD52725. dodger1
