Question about Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

I have a Sharp CD-ES777 mini audio system that will not turn on (does not respond to the power on button). When the unit is plugged in, the red timer indicator light flashes a sequence of 1 long flash followed by 4 short flashes. This sequence repeats continuously. I assume this is a self-diagnostic code. I tried leaving the unit unplugged with the speakers disconnected for several hours, as suggested by a Sharp rep., but no luck. Any idea what the flashes mean, or what could be wrong? Thanks, Charlie

Kenwood A722L no sound and volume led blinking

This could be due to a faulty speaker relay (if your unit uses one). Normally, the unit will "wait" a couple of seconds after you turn the unit on. Then you will hear a "click" and the sound will begin coming through the speakers. If the relay is faulty, it would cause the problem you describe.

Try this
1. Power off both the TV and the DVR.
2. Plug in the HDMI cable to both units.
3. With the DVR off, press and hold the power button on the unit until the word BOOT appears on the display.
4. Wait until the unit reboots and shows the clock again, then power the TV and the DVR up.
5. Choose the appropriate input on the TV for HDMI.
6. Use the SETTINGS button on the DVR remote to get into the "more settings" option.
7. Find audio settings and choose HDMI output, press select.
Hope that helps.........

How do i hook up mt ipod

To hook up your ipod to an a/v reciever you need a stereo mini to male rca cable. You plug the mini side into you ipods head phone jack, and the male rca's left and right(usually red and white colored plugs) to an auxilary input on the a/v reciever.-Example, tape, aux, sa/cd.
Change the input on the reciever to correspond with where you connected the ipod
Ensure the ipod is powered on and playing with the volume turned up.

I have a Denon 1708 receiver. When I push the "on" button, either on the unit itself or using the remote, the light flashes green for a few seconds, then flashes red. When it turns red, all of the info...

Your result indicates the unit is not passing its power up self test. The first thing to try would be to remove all connections to the unit and try to power up. If it still mis-behaves, the unit has an internal problem best left to pros unless you're pretty good digging through circuitry. If it comes up stable, then reconnect things one at a time until the issue occurs again. Detach the offending connection and look for issues in the cables or the connected unit.

Same thing

normally this happens when there is too high of an audio output. To fix this, change the system to tuner and turn down the volume (if it allows you to) and then unplug the system. Plug back in and it should work. If that doesnt work, try unplugging for 15 min to allow it to reset.

Lost cd player code

You can find the remote control codes for different brands of devices from
http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/codes-tv.shtml#tv

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:

1. Searching For Your Code

If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
  1. PRESS the button for the device you want to program, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), then RELEASE.
  2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
  3. ENTER 9-9-1 (two blinks on the remote)
  4. ALTERNATE slowly between the POWER key and the DEVICE (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.) button until your device turns off. (On VCR, LD, and CD players use PLAY instead of POWER)
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the entire library of codes.
  5. When your device turns OFF, PRESS the SETUP button and RELEASE it to lock in the code for your device.

hope this may help;
