THE PRINTER STATUS SAYS IT IS OUT OF PAPER, BUT

THE PRINTER STATUS SAYS IT IS OUT OF PAPER, BUT THERE IS PAPER IN THE TRAY. HOW DO YOU CORRECT THIS PROBLEM?

The most likely scenario is that one of the paper travel sensors are "ON" There is one at the top of the printer where the paper exits. The other is below where the paper enters into the printer. Take a close look for torn shreds of paper that may remain in the printer. Look inside the front of the printer where the paper goes. Take the toner cartridge out of the printer, look in the hole, inspect closely for loose paper. I hope this information was helpful, should you have further problems perhaps seek an HP Certified Technician for repair.

HOW TO FIX ERROR CODE 094-534

Make Sure the Paper Trays Are Configured With the Correct Paper Size, Type, and Color

To configure settings for Paper Trays 1 and 2
  1. Open the paper tray.
  2. Make sure that the required paper stock is loaded in the paper tray, and that the paper edge guides are adjusted properly to fit the size of the paper.
  3. Close the paper tray. The Printer Settings screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
  4. Select [Size], and then select the size of paper loaded in the tray. If this is a standard size paper, the correct size will be selected automatically if the paper guides are adjusted correctly. If necessary, select [Custom] to enter the paper size if the required size is not displayed and then enter the required X and Y values.
  5. Select [Save].
  6. Select [Type], and then select the type of paper loaded in the tray.
  7. Select [Color], and then select the color of paper loaded in the tray.
  8. Select [Confirm].

My printer will not print. The status says out of paper, but there is paper loaded in the bottom

Printers with photo tray have a nominal input tray capacity of 10 mm, or 100 sheets of plain paper. If the tray is loaded above its normal capacity, the printers will not pick up paper.

13.20.00 paper jam. But there is no paper in the system. I checked from all sides but there is no paper in it. I restarted to check if the paper path is cleared but no change.

13.20.00 JAM INSIDE <LOCATION>

Paper has not moved past a certain paper
sensor. <LOCATION> can be one of the
following locations.

? TRAY 2
Remove the tray, and then check the
paper path for obstructions. Perform a
manual sensor test and observe the prefeed
sensor (PS102) status (B). Toggle
the sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? TOP COVER
Remove the print cartridge, and then
check the paper path for obstructions.
Verify that the top-of-page sensor
(PS103) and the media width sensors
(PS106 and PS108) are unblocked.
Perform a manual sensor test and
observe the status of these sensors.
Toggle the sensor flags to determine if
their status changes.
? REAR DOOR
Open or remove the rear face-up bin,
and then check the paper path on each
side of the fusing assembly for
obstructions. Remove the fuser, if
necessary. Perform a manual sensor
test and observe the fuser delivery
sensor (PS700) status (C). Toggle the
sensor flag to determine if the status
changes.
? DUPLEXER (only printers with duplex)
Remove the duplexer, and then check
the paper path for obstructions. If the
message persists, replace the duplexer.

What does error 60.03 mean?

This has to do with the paper lifter for tray three. There could be any number of problems with the lifter or tray;

1. incorrect paper size - i.e. someone loaded letter in the tray that is mannually set to legal and didn't change the manual paper slider to letter or papers stuck in the tray,

2. manual paper lifter isn't working properly, motor spring could be broken or out of place,

3. the paper tray could be broken and you will need to replace the tray.

First check that the correct size paper is loaded properly in the tray and that there is no paper detritis stuck anywhere. If the tray has the correct paper and there is not paper detritis then swap tray 2 and 3, reboot the printer and see if the problem moves with the tray - it should become a 60.02 error. If this happens then it is a tray issue. If you still get a 60.03 error then it is a tray 3 lifter motor issue, here is a link that explains what needs to be done.

A lot of the time there is a loud pronounced clicking or banging also associated with the problem. The noise happens during the paper pathway test shortly after you turn the printer on and will display the 60.xx error code instead of the ready status.

Your printer is requesting a paper size not loaded in the tray.

Delete the spool or charge the requested paper size or weitght in the tray.

Paper size mismatch is appearing on the screen

if that is when your printing you have to check and be sure the paper tray size is set correctly. You press the machine status button and make sure, tray 1, 2 and the bypass are set to the proper size paper.

Paper tray is full and the paper light keeps flashing.

First check the machine for paper jams. If not, remove the paper from the paper tray and reinstall it. Then try to print from the MP tray.If this works, check paper size settings on the printer driver, or the small black arm which hangs down next to the paper pick up roller, and is the paper sensor.

Paper

I had a similar problem. I noticed that the paper tension on the paper tray wasn't set correctly. Needs to be tight. Once corrected it worked fine.

Can't print from the MP tray?

When you print labels or envelopes you need to select the correct tray from the print menu. (File print or ctrl P) or the printer will think the normal paper tray is being used.

You can force the printer to change the tray after the print has been sent by pressing the continue button on the printer, just make sure that the normal tray has no paper in it.
