Try another usb port, preferably usb 2.0 port. Sometimes ports will not recognize devices. With the cd in the drive, it should automatically install. Then you should restart and start using your wireless adapter.

What are connections and connectors for audio output to wireless headset

Hi Richard,

First, you'll need to determine which type of input(s) the wireless headset transmitter has. Most common is the 3.5mm stereo plug designed to slip into the headphone jack of a TV, MP3 player, cell phone, etc. Some transmitters have adapters in the box to allow connecting to the Left and Right channel RCA / phono style jacks found on other components such as CD, DVD, VCR, Stereo receivers / amplifiers, etc.

You'll need to find OUTPUTS of the CD and TV that match the plug on the wireless headset transmitter. If yours doesn't include adapters to go from say the RCA jacks mentioned above - to whatever connector that the transmitter input has - you'll need to go to your local Radio Shack store or similar store to see if they can provide an adapter that will allow you to connect.

Here are a couple plugs / adapters:

Above: A "3.5mm stereo patch cable". Your transmitter may have a cable with an end like this to plug into the TV's headphone jack.

These cables / adapters are typically $5 to $10 maximum.

I hope this helps and good luck!

I just bought a Belkin wireless router for my internet to connect with my microsoft xbox 360 wireless adapter. the light turns on the adapter but it is a amber color and not red or green like always...

I've never heard of a Wireless Adapter turning amber or orange? This can be a simple light problem inside your Xbox 360. If it were fixed, the highest possibility is that color should be red. If so, this means the connection is not strong enough to your modem, and adapter. You will have move your Xbox 360 console closer to your wireless modem for the connection to be the best.

Light is turning red not green and sometimes dosent come on when xboox is turned on

the adapter only comes on usually when the xbox is turned on and booting itself up. try restarting the xbox over and over again and replugging in the adapter. If the light is red that meanes its on and running but cannot connect to your router or modem etc. if this is happening reconfig your connection so it recognizes your router.IMPORTANT: if you have security on your router you must enter everything in before you can connect. If your adapter still doesnt read your router you must be out of range or the router is not putting out a signal.

How can i get xbox live wirless working after buying the adapter. I have bought the xbox wirless adapter and i am having trouble getting wirless.

Okay, to connect to Xbox Live using Wireless Internet you will need this:

One Xbox Wireless connection unit, There are two types, the black and white versions. The black one is able to pick up the most diverse signals and has a higher potential for speed so I recommend that one.
You will also need, of course, a high speed internet source (modem) and a wireless router connected to the modem. When looking for wireless routers look for ones with marks claiming to be compatible with Xbox Live or a Windows OS. Those have been tested to work with Xbox.

Before trying to set up your Xbox Live, make sure your Router is set up with your computer, and set to be used as a wireless router. That's another tip all together but just follow your installation CD.

Okay so here we go!

First, Connect the wireless networking adapter to the back of your Xbox.
If you have a network cable plugged into your xbox, unplug it. Check to make sure the adapter's light is on.

Here's what the light's mean:
On the gray adapter:
No light: It's not getting enough power( try plugging it another USB slot)
Green light: It is connected to a wireless router, gateway or wireless access point.
Red light: It is not connected, and is ready for configuration.
Flashing red: There is a malfunction. (try again, if the problem persists return it for a replacement)

On the black adapter:
No light: It's not getting enough power( try plugging it another USB slot)
Green light: It is connected to a wireless router2_bing.gif, gateway or wireless access point.
Flashing green: The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless router, gateway, or access point.
Red light: It is not connected, and is ready for configuration.
Flashing red: There is a malfunction. (try again, if the problem persists return it for a replacement)

Now the CONFIGURATION, the reason most of you are reading this:

Turn your Xbox on and go to "My Xbox"
Go to "System Settings"
Go to "Network Settings"
Go to "Configure Network"
On the basic settings tab select "Wireless mode"
Select "Scan for Networks"
Select your Wireless source.

NOTE: If your Network isn't listed you will have to manually enter it.
To do this select "Specify unlisted network"
You will need to enter your SSID
Then choose which security you used to set it up on your Computer (ie: WPA, WEP...) Then enter your security code. If there is no code then select "no security"

Your adapter should have a green light now.

Now go back to "Network Settings" and select "Test Xbox Live2_bing.gif Connection"

If it works your good to go!

Hope this tip helps :).

Wireless routers, what are they for?

the wireless router is the access point where the signal is produced, this gets hooked to your cable/dsl modem to share the internet connection wirelessly, your laptop needs a little wireless card to be able to connect to that router, these are cheap and come in a variety of different types, the simplest is to go to Best Buy and pickup a USB wireless adapter and plug it in and put in the cd that comes with it and install it and then Windows should take care of the rest as long as your router is on and there is no password applied.

Learn to connect wireless usb adapter

Hello raab2011,

On the wireless usb, you connect it to a USB port on the back or side of your computer normally. What kind of laptop do you have? When you do this you need to follow the wireless adapter instruction manual and have the CD in your laptop.

1). Put CD in your laptop
2). The hardware wizard comes up
3). It will step you through when to plug in your adapter.
4). Follow the steps on the screen to install it.

If you have any questions. Feel free to respond to this.

Gamin adapter set up, plz help

Hi Shawn. Does yout PS2 connect when it is downstairs on the wireless? Reason I ask is wifi routers tend to transmit horizontally, and are very weak in vertical transmittions.
If you are connecting while you are own stairs, we can assume the WEP is not an issue.

WEP setting vary on different adapters. Some allow your to use 5 digits for your wep code, others require the full 10 digits. If you are using just 5, say 12345, try putting a 3 infront of each digit, i.e. 3132333435. If you are using all 10, on bought the adapters, this shouldn't be a issue.
Of course, if you can connect to while downstaris, this issue it mute.
You can also try changing channels. Channel 1 has more range than channel 8.
The last guess is that yoour router has less range than the Dlink.

See if any of those suggestions help, and let us know.

Good luck.
