I turn on the pavioliion dv4 and there is no screen. i hear it on but see nothing

http://www.ehow.com/how_6162556_change-screen-brightness-hp-laptop.html This is a link to with instructions on how to change the brightness of your computor. It may be on too dark a setting now. Another possibility is that the screen has worn out and needs to be replaced. A third is that the computor itself is not working properly now, although you say you hear it on. If it is not a question of brightness (the setting is too low and now everything looks dark), I would take it to a place which repairs HP's.

Do lcd monitors over heat and shut off screen image while monitor is still on. i have a dell monitor and an hp vs17e. the hp monitor has started dropping the screen, going to black. i can turn it on and it...

It is possible that your the lcd inverter board is failing or possibly the back light, i suggest taking the back cover off the monitor and checking the power board for leaking or slightly buldged capacitors, to spot this youll have a dark liquid traces on the cap or on the board, the top of the cap must be flat not bulged, if there are any they'll need to be replaced, you can get them from electronic stores like Maplins, and if you are able to use a soldering iron desolder the the ones of the board and solder the new ones on. Make sure you get the exact farad rating of the caps, it dosent matter to much about voltage as long as it is equal or above the voltage stated on the cap. Also insure that they are replaced the correct way around, check this before desoldering from board.

HP vs17e My screen went black for a few moments and when it

Switch off and on your PC and hold down the F5 key and this should bring up your PC in Safe Mode. If this fails, then find a PC repair shop to replace the power supply.

Hp vs17e monitor says it's in sleep mode then goes blank

check the board postings for the HP f1903 monitor.I recall seeing a problem of the same there and a solution or fix. As it is only a newer version of the same model, it may be the same fix. Appears HP has a big problem with QA and this particular model. Lots of people have same or similar problems, and all appear to have a similar fix or solution. Tricky part... figuring out how to "Open" the monitor to check it inside!
Good Luck.
PS - if you figure out the opening part, let us all know!

My hp dv6000 monitor wont turn on.

It sounds like a fault in your screen displays, or worse your motherboard. Take it in for a look because the problem is hardware and it needs to be checked and replaced.

Hope This Helps

Goes to sleep

Hi

Pls check the power option settings in control panel.

Also pls check if the power management options for keyboard and mouse in device manager are enabled or not.

Pls try to create a new profile and check if the sleep mode is working in the new profile.

Pls try a System restore if the above steps don't work.
