Why my acer orbicam suddenly malfunctioned,my laptop is aspire series 5570

    I can't disconnect it since it is bulit in webcam

    malfunctioned,in the sense that every time i want to use it,it wont work,worse,there's a sound that wont stop and i have to tilt my cam just to get rid of the sound

    I have done it all before but to no avail,maybe i shoud need a driver software from the acer factory website and download it,as you told me,thanks

    sorry,I just acant rate the solution because everything i want to know for fixing my problem is just not there,i've done this all a year ago but it just doesn't work,as a matter of fact i already uninstall it in my system but the problem still pops up evrytime i open my laptop,that's why i seek assistance,so maybe i still do what i always does everytime it pops up with sound,just tilt the built in cam so the sound will dissappear.

I'm sorry to say that this problem won't be fixed with software. From your description, I think that the ribbon cable that connects to the webcam itself has a small hairline crack in it and needs to be replaced. If a ground connection is one of the cracked traces, then the sound you are hearing is what is called crosstalk. Without the grond connected, the data lines act like antennas and pick up all kinds of interference noise. This unit will need to be opened up and the cable replaced. That should silence the noise and also allow the camera portion to work as well. Since you have removed the software drivers, you will need to re-install them once the cable has been replaced.


Hope this helps to at least explain what is happening.

    Or better have it service by an expert on this, because chances are there are some wires that are pinched on something in which its making up the sound and by adjusting it, it goes away.

    sound due to camera position?? this sounds like a hardware issue. and i think you will have to dismantle the unit to check up this problem.

    so please start the repair only if you are good in electronics and laptops.

    this is enough to say that the problem is nothing to do with the software and the drivers.

    why dint you take this to a service center from one year??

    this is a clear hardware fault from my point. this can be even some small problem like a connection interface problem.

    is you want to avoid the cost of going to a service center then i would either recommend you to take risk and disassemble the unit to repair it.

    else leave the problem as it is. it may clear itself in time being.

Try disconnecting and plugging back usb

    Try first disconnecting computer power cable for 10 minutes and then plug it back. Also disconnect the usb cable, and then re-connect it, eventually using a different USB port.
    If this does not fix it, then you will need to reinstall drivers.
    Unplug the cam from USB, put inside driver disk and start again software and driver setup program.
    Disconnect the cam from USB before installing driver connect it back only when required explicitly by setup or after installing driver.
    If you do not have the disk you will need to download driver software from factory website.

    Then reinstall the drivers provided for orbicam on Acer website. Before doing this disconnect laptop from power and remove battery for five minutes, this can fix it.

    Use the link above, click 'drivers and utilities', either on Vista or Win XP, depending on your system. There you will find Orbicam drivers listed in a drop down menu.

The battery is fully charged, and the ac adapter is plugged into the laptop, when i push the on button the laptop will not start


Remove the battery and power source. Remove the RAM and hdd. Power up with the power supply and it should do something. If it does, replace the RAM and hdd it should now restart. If nothing, check the GPU.

How do I get the battery out of my acer laptop

. I suspect that the information you have been given regarding battery removal and passwords refers to removing the cmos battery as in a PC in the hope that it will clear Bios activated passwords.

Button keeps blinking


It sounds like it could be either the battery is going bad and not holding a charge or the adapter is. I have had really good luck with similar problems going to places like Batteries +, and large electronic retailers, and my favorite the small local mom and pop computer store; where I end up asking them If I could try one of the adapters from the floor model to eliminate if is a faulty adapter. Other then that I'd if its not out of warranty contact Acers online chat support at http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service

I've a acer laptop model no 4820T. In this touchpad option not working but left and right button was working.... wats the problem n wat to do? tel me soon............."


Try the following: Using your FN key and the F7 Key together it might work again. You could have toggled the touchpad off. If that does not work you have issues with either the touchpad or the operating system. Best of Luck.

How do i turn my bluetooth on?acer aspire 5044wlmi


For Acep Aspire 504x model systems that have Bluetooth built in, there is an on/off switch located in the front of the system.

For systems with bluetooth built in there will be two buttons next to each other just left of the mic and headphone ports.

The left of the 2 buttons is the bluetooth switch and the right of the 2 buttons is for 802.11 wireless.

If you only have 1 button then you do not have bluetooth built-in. You can also check to see if bluetooth is included by looking at the bottom, if Bluetooth is installed there will be a white FCC lebel with the name Bluetooth written on it.
