Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

Printer I just did a windows auto update and now I can't print. I have tried 2 different printers, Its not the printers. I did the HP diagnostic and the printers are working fine, hook up is correct. I removed the printers and reinstalled the drivers but still no printing. The print job never goes to the spool but the icon for printing lights up in the tool bar. Any thoughts? Also, I can't open my control panel since the update.

Looking for printer software hp656c for my laptop windows 7 (32 bit)

Thats quite an old printer, it should work with a generic printer driver for basic text printing, otherwise try some of windows 7s built in HP injet drivers. I doubt you will find a specific windows 7 driver for this model, its out of support life

The driver for your HP product is already included in the Windows Vista operating system. You do not need to download a driver to use the product.

Check out this page to learn how to install the in-Operating System driver (in-OS driver) included in Windows Vista with your HP printer.

HP Print Diagnostic Utility was created to help users troubleshoot and correct many common problems on Windows-based computers that can prevent printing. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the utility. Download the Diagnostic Utility here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-88700-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=2100&product=445442&sw_lang=
