My computer is saying it is missing a file so i cant start

If you can't get into windows try the following:
reboot your computer and at the logo hit f8
select the option that says safe mode with command prompt
Once you get to the C: type the following - chkdsk /f
this will check for errors and if any are found will most likely repair them automatically. this process will take a while to run, do not interrupt it, just let it run until complete. Once it is done, type exit and your system will reboot and you should be able to get into Windows. Hope this helps!

Laptop keeps restarting

  1. See if you can start in Safe Mode (hit F8 before Windows loads - best way is to keep tapping F8 after you power it on. You should get a menu with "start in Safe Mode" as an option.
  2. Once booted in safe mode go to Control Panel, System, Advanced, ;Startup and recovery'.
  3. Click the Settings button and remove the tick from the "Automatically Restart" box.
  4. Click all the OK's to get back to Control Panel.
  5. Reboot as normal and the system should display an error code. Post that error code here and we can have a look at it.

Dell dimension 3000. Just Black Screen no Windows XP.

From your description, you were able to boot the machine properly in Safe Mode. While in Safe Mode, change the video resolution to the lowest possible (color depth does not matter at this point). You should also check that you are configured for single monitor operation if your video card supports multiple monitors. Reboot the machine normally. If all goes well, you can readjust your video settings for a higher resolution again.

Emachine w3107 reboots when windows xp loads

These kinds of issues are most often related to driver conflicts. First thing you need to do is reboot your PC while holding F8, until you receive the menu about booting in to Safe Mode. Try booting in to Safe Mode.

If you can get in to Safe Mode, disable any new devices you have recently installed, reboot again, this time letting it try to boot all the way to Windows.

If it reboots again, go back in to Safe Mode and disable/uninstall something else.

Basically, it is a process of elimination. Safe Mode loads a very minimal set of system drivers, so if you can boot in to Safe Mode but not in to full Windows, the problem is one (or more...) of the drivers that load in Windows but don't load in Safe Mode.

I disabled my video card now i cant see the screen???/

Where did you disable it? In windows? Start up in Safe mode and check your video there. I would ininstall it and restart. Windows should see it and set it up normally.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
