D610 loop on boot

Hi phatheadrowl,

I see you have a boot issue with your Dell Laptop.

As soon as you see the Black screen before the Dell Logo keep on Tapping f8 then a list will show up select Last known good configuration First, if this does not work follow the below proceeds.

since it is rebooting on its own, we can go an boot into safe mode, to do that once the system is rebooting and you se the dell Logo on the screen keep on tapping F8 a list will show up and we need to select "Safe Mode" , once in Safe Mode it will be windows but all drivers are disable on that point and the video will be different so do not worry, once we are in Safe Mode click on Start, then click on Accessories, click on system tools, then look for system restore then perform a restore on the system to a date when it was working fine or not rebooting on its own on the issue.

And if you have a Windows disc that came with your Dell you run the Recovery Environment and do a Fixboot but if you do not have the Windows Disc Fixboot will not work without a Disc.

I hope this helps.

If you have the Disc please send me a message so I can provide you detail on how to perform Fixboot / fixmbr

Toshiba tecra m1 pc.. boot cycle keeps recycling... the windows logo appears then it auto restarts... will not finish loading windows xp same thing happens when i try to boot in safe mode.. any of the...

If it's rebooting when trying to boot into safe mode as well, have you tried "Last Known Good Configuration"? Press F8 like you do to go into Safe Mode, and choose this instead.
If this doesn't work, on the F8 menu, you can disable automatic restart. This will cause Windows to hang instead of automatically rebooting when it encounters an error. With any luck, it will display a STOP error for you. If you get this, comment with the error and I'll be happy to look that up for you.
If this helps, please give a positive rating.

When I turn it on toshiba logo comes on and then it says that there either was apower failer or it was not shut down propley and it says to start windows normally when I do that nothing happans screan goes...

When it asks you to start windows in normal, there is also an option for Safe Mode. Select safe mode and boot. Once you have booted in safe mode, you can reboot and let it boot normally (it will not ask now).

My Acer Aspire 1 gets stuck when the Windows XP logo apears and just keeps booting, what can I do?

Hard Drive error on the Disk most likely... Try to go to Windows "Safe Mode"... pressing F5 before you see the XP Logo and after you see the system information screens. Once in safe mode... run ScanDisk.
Open My Computer | Right Click C Drive | Left Click Properties | Tools Tab Run Check Disk for Errors... also check mark both boxes.
Reboot

POWERS UP BUT THEN FREEZES AFTER ABOUT 4 MINUTES

Need to test and isolate where it exactly freezes? After dell logo, after windows logo or while inside windows? Now, if it only freezes inside windows try to turn off your windows updates and antivirus first and check if still freezes, if yes then try booting in safe mode, reboot system then keep tapping on f8 once dell logo appears. Check if laptop keeps freezing in safe mode. Please let me know.

Laptop does not open windows

Boot to the WIndows XP CD, and at the first prompt, press R to enter Recovery Console. Once at the C: prompt, type CHKDSK /R and let the run, once finished, reboot and see if the system will boot.

If it still is in a reboot loop, or if CHKDSK reports unrecoverable errors, then you may have a hdd problem, run HDD diagnostics and see if you get a failure code.

If diags pass, try repairing the installation with the XP CD (Odds are fair to poor at fixing issue) if that fails try a clean install of XP (Sometimes that is the only resolution)

If the HDD fails diags or if all the above fails, replace the hard drive

Booting problem

Try putting the computer into safe mode by holding down on the F8 button and selecting safe mode during the boot process. Once you get to the safe mode screen and windows appears, restart the computer.

If that doesn't fix the problem you will have to restore Windows.

No screen on my toshiba 9100

Hi Alex

I suggest going to Safe Mode and see what happens. You do this by tapping F8 right after the Toshiba splash screen. There should be an Advanced Windows Options menu. Choose Safe mode and wait, if everything appears ok then its probably a driver problem, a reinstallation of those should do the trick, if not, then we might be looking at something a little more critical. Let me know what happens.

Cheers;
