Getting the LS to pick up the bobbin thread

I had to change out my needle, and now I can't get the machine to pick up the bobbin thread. Did I do something wrong when I put everything back in place? I don't sew alot, so the manual isn't really helping me.

Possibly the needle is inserted incorrectly. This machine thread front to back so the flat side of the needle needs to be on the back of the machine.

I have a brother ls-2150 I can't pick cotton up from the bobbin

Try installing a brand new needle (verify it is installed correctly). If it still does not pick up the bobbin thread, the needle/hook may be out of time, requiring service.

LS-1520 Brother sewing machine hook pick thread up takes it around half way and gets stuck...any ideas. the timing seems to be right??!!

try changing needles
clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure the bobbin is inserted into the bobbin case correctly--if the
machine won't pick the thread up from the bobbin correctly take the bobbin
out of the case & turn it around & try it that way.

The needle does'nt pick up the bobbin thread

Generally, this is because the needle is inserted wrong or because it's bent. In the first case, the top of the needle (called the shank) has a flat side-this has to be inserted so it faces the back or away from you.
In the second case, when a bent needle stops the top thread from picking up the bobbin thread. Even if you think your needle is fine, change it to see if this solves the problem.

Needle is not picking up thread from bobbin it was working fine and just stopped sewing then I noticed the bobbin thread was not being picked up .

Check your needle, it may need to be changed (make sure you insert it flat side away from you), now totally rethread, Another thing, is your thread old, tangled? If, all of this does not fix it, take it in for professional service.

Brother sewing machine ls-30 will not draw up the bobbin thread what should i do

Check the needle to see if it's damaged
Make sure the bobbin has a 3-5 inch thread tail
Then make sure the top thread has a 3-5 inch tail
Then hold the top thread tail with your fingers (away from the needle)
& use the hand wheel on the right hand side of the machine to slowly
Lower the needle in the bobbin area & see if the bobbin thread will pick
Up that way

The needle does not pick up the bobbin thread

Check the needle - is it bent. Is it in backwards (flat side to the back is correct), or is it threaded from the back to the front instead of from the front to the back.

Check the bobbin to be sure the thread is feeding in the proper direction and the thread is not caught in the cover for the bobbin area.

If none of this helps, then the machine needs to go into the shop for service.

LS 2125i haveing problems getting the top thread

I don't know about now, but in the old days you had to pull out about three inches of thread through the eye of the needle & hold it with plenty of slack while turning the wheel on the end of the machine slowly. Once the needle disappeared below the plate & then reappeared you could stop turning the wheel & slowly pull on the end of the thread you are holding to pull the thread from the bobbin up. Of course there must be thread on the bobbin spool & it must be some extra hanging out. (not broken off flush with the spool)

My needle won't pick up the bobbin thread

My sewing machine is a Brother LS1217, well actually it is my son's, and he uses it very seldom. I went over to put in a new needle and I cleaned it top and bottom, put in a new bobbin, and a new needle and the needle won't pick up the bottom thread. What am I doing wrong? Please help me!! It has to be something simple, as this is such a simple machine! roseandjimmy@yahoo.com
