it would be helpful to know which monitor you have - each one is a little different...
basically, you need to press the "menu" button on your monitor, use the arrow buttons (on monitor, not keyboard) to get to the brightness adjustment screen, hit set, then adjust with arrow buttons, and hit set again, then menu to exit.
