Hi,
Error Code: 0x0000005D: Your CPU is not compatible.
To install Windows 8 Release Preview on your PC, the processor (CPU) must support the following features: Physical Address Extension (PAE), NX, and SSE2. Most CPUs have support for these features, so if you receive this error, it is likely because the NX feature is not enabled on your system.
To resolve this error, follow manufacturer guidelines to enable NX ("No eXecute bit"), or the equivalent XD ("eXecute Disabled") feature, within the BIOS security settings.
If the BIOS setting for the NX support option is not available on your system, you may need to contact the manufacturer for updating the BIOS. Note that some older processors may not contain these features and will be incompatible with Windows 8 Release Preview

Nvidia 8800 gts graphics card willnot work properly since upgrading tiwindows 7

hi makemtakem

please check as you might be using the WDM or the windows drivers included in the Windows 7 installation. You may want to try to upgrade to the latest drivers found on the nvidia website itself. www.nvidia.com some features for the card specially gaming features are not fully functional with just the WDM drivers since this is already outdated.

hope this helps, please let me know

This motherboard has 1 PCI Express x16 slot for a graphics card.

You could use:
Geforce 6 series (6800GT)

Geforce 7 series (GeForce 7950, GeForce 7900, GeForce 7800, GeForce 7600 ,
GeForce 7300, GeForce 7200 and GeForce 7100)

I have vertical red lines generated by my Nvidia 8800 GTS graphics card

Its a GPU problem.
It can be overcome by doing reflow technique.
You need to do following.
1. Uncover ur PC casing
2. Locate the nVIDIA PCI-E Card.
3. On the card, locate the power supply pin of GPU fan.
4. Remove the pin.
5. Switch on ur PC.
6. Still u may get scrambled display/wavy screen, but wait for 5 minutes.
7. Press reset button on ur PC.
8. Ur PC might work.
9. Switch it off.
10. Connect the power supply pin back as it is.
11. Power on ur PC.
thats all.

Removal of fan power, makes the GPU to get high heat, it a reflow technique.
Remember, not to touch the GPU portion (heat sink), as it may be in higher temperature.
Try this, it works most.

Windows 7 stutters

Hello Jonathan,

Was Windows 7 the operating system that came with

your System? If not, What I would advise you to do

is this:

Check HP website to find out if your Laptop supports

Windows 7.

If it doesnt, then Jonathan, I would advise you to

PLEASE change it back to the operating system

that came with your system, or better still, the

operating system that it supports.

The reason is because that is exactly what I faced

two weeks ago....

I changed the operating system for my PC to

Windows 7 ( Even though it doesnt support it)...it

worked fine for a while, then later it started to develop

faults after a while...like stuttering, mouse pointer

moving round the screen, graphics displaying

improperly...etc.

I first thought it wasn't a big deal, so I fixed it by

repairing the drivers, and it workied fine once again...

In short Jonathan....Now as I'm typing, the system is

with HP Service Centre for they have to change the

Mainboard Outrightly!

So PLEASE, if your system was not specified

Windows 7, use the Operating Systems that it

supports.

But if it is the one that came with it, then let me know

so as to tell you some quick fixes.

Hope this helps you out.

Goodluck and thanks for using fixya!

Nvidia geforce 8800 gts code 43 due to vista home premium

Well if you installed the correct drivers for your video card and have the proper power supply requirements, then the vertical lines you're getting most likely indicate that your video card is bad.

Try it in another computer if available, or get another video card.
