It will only damage the motor if you connect it reverse polarity. OR if you disconnected the battery with the engine still running. Time for a new vehicle! ..
So what does your mechanic think is wrong ? Battery dies overnight while sitting or when driving the battery goes dead ? Two different problems . Going dead overnight means there is a parasitic drain on the battery . ( something is staying on ) Going dead while driving means the alternator isn't charging the battery .
Do a draw test on the battery and then start pulling fuses while you watch the amp meter.. Also check for lights left on like glove box light, vanity mirror lights left on in sun visors, these are the most common source of draws.
put kill where? at battery post, and is just a switch,
not those dynamic battery drop relays?
if the battery goes dead with the neg. lug pulled the battery is bad.
end of life , battery.
the lug pull never lies.... ever.
if stays ok now this is called battery phantom drain.
(or aka. dark currents)
finding cause takes an ammeter. any,
here is all ways to find a drain.
no,,,, the panic and the door open buttons all use the same
fob battery. try that, remove the battery see all buttons go dead.???
bingo... so the switch is all gunked up, (split cola, sweat.???)
the car came with 2 fobs. use the other fob.
lost it. get a new one, never run a car with 1 fob. bad idea.
btw, if id sold you this, car, the panic would be hacked, i kill them all.
when tripped, the panic my car, requires entry and key on,.
a royal pain that is. dog barking , babies crying, all that....
There is a large maxi-fuse between the battery and alternator. Its at least 100 amp or more. It may be in the cable at the battery, or in one of the fuse boxes. You may also have damaged the key switch or the brake circuit. You may have to get a book to get the wiring diagrams to check everything involved.
ur battery is dead!!! even if u have a new phone......just plug in ur phone and take out ur battery and if it still duz it that means u killed the battery.i hope this helps a little......info by MR.GIZMO
250 mA drain isn't enough to be a short circuit...it most likely is the capacitors continuously charging.
One way to confirm this is to put an ammeter (with a fuse inline) in series with your main power feed to your stereo power supply. By adding or disconnecting individual components, you can quickly determine where your power drain is coming from.
