Generic problem for all Acomdata Drive Cases

External hard drive

light blinks and makes noise with the rythm of the light but computer doesn't recognize there is a hard drive attached.

Clarification Request

If you are using a USB port for the drive.. be sure you have disconnected whatever you had in the port before if it was in use. USB sometimes has issues removing one device and adding another. Try rebooting the PC with NOTHING in the USB port, and then connect the drive to the USB and see if it is recognized.
If that doesn't work be sure you have USB 2.0 drives and not 1.0. Your drive needs a 2.0 USB to work.
