Question about ASUS K8S-MX Motherboard

1 Answer

Not able to install RAM > 512 MB

Hi,

I use ASUS K8SMX mother board. Previously I was using 512 MB RAM. It was running fine. When I tried to install 1 GB RAM, while booting it restarts again. I tried to restart in "safe mode", I observed that it was hanging while loading the driver mup.sys. If I use 512 MB RAM. It runs fine.

Also, I tried to install 256 MB graphics card on top 512 MB RAM. same problem is repeating.

Can someone solve this mystery?

I have an asus k8v-mx motherboard running only 512 mb of ram what type of ram would suit this mother board and could i fit a 1 x 2mb ram instead of 2 x 1mb?

Dear Sir,

*********** board is Asus old p4 Mother board. It supports maximum 1GB RAM of DDR 400(DDR1). According to your post your computer having only one 512 MB working RAM. If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot, you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I think it solves your problem.if you have any problem come back with more information. I will try to assist you more accurately.

good luck

Loss of Ram in D102G intel Board

hello, you just have a shared memory with the on-board ati graphics, if it's on- board graphic card it shares the system memory-most are adjustable through the system bios-in 64,128,256 settings. and if you put more memory, in most cases it will automatic-raise the memory size of the graphics memory. i hope this helps you, all the best. if you need further assistance reply. don't forget to rate this solution.

System won'n boot if i installed two RAMs

Hello,

Is the old ram working if installed alone? If yes then maybe got error or grounded if both ram inserted. Try to blow air the ram slot in the board to eliminate dirt and then try to interchange the position of the ram and then try it again.

Hope this will work.

ASUS A8N5X Unresponsive after RAM Upgrade

Just to verify, are you certain the new DIMMS are unbuffered? That MB does not support buffered DIMMS.

If so, try to install the old ones in A1 and B1 and the new ones in A2 and B2. See if it will boot. If so, check your system to see if the total RAM is being "seen". Comment back.

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

Hello,
Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.
