This is usually a failure of the vertical IC. This should be a small flat IC attached to a heatsink and may be marked LA7837 or something similar. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins first as poor connections can cause this as well. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC.

Sanyo lcd projector has horizontal scrolling lines in its picture. Is this different than a lamp problem? Electrical? All else works fine. Thank you. Sanyo PLC-5600n lcd video projector. Not a tv.

This is caused by the processor and not by the lamp. As you might know, these projectors display colors by blanking out the light with lcd pixels. Most folks don't know that any display devices such as displays on cameras, laptop displays, etc. use an amazing amount of original technology that powered CRT TVs. (Yes, even vertical hold, although done electronically today, is there.) You'll just have to send this one in for service.

I have 5 horizontal distorted line on my screen even with no device attached is this a processor problem

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that the issue is with the defective capacitor in the vertical output circuit of the chassis. This is a very common occurrence in many CRT based TV's. Since the vertical deflection circuit has now failed altogether, there is a protective mode built into the TV that prevents anything from showing on the screen since a bright horizontal line can burn a permanent line into the projection CRT's. If you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components it can be done by you if not then you’ll need to have a service technician or someone with the proper technical experience determine which electrolytic capacitor has failed and replace it.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

My RCA D52W23 won't turn on

The set is in shut down mode due to a fault detected in power supply/vertical or horizontal deflection circuits.
The common problems with this model that will cause the symptom you describe are bad power supply capacitors, bad flyback, bad HV cap in horizontal output circuit and cold solders especially under flyback area.
These are only the most common problems and it could be any number of other faults.
If you have electronic (TV) repair experience check the items mentioned, otherwise it's best to seek a qualified RCA tech for an estimate/service call.

IM A TV TECH. I HAVE A SONY LCD KP-60XBR800 I HAVE NO RASTER. POWER OK, MENU OK BUT NO RASTER ON TUNER, TUNER VOLTS OK,CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE. THANKS my email sergioaguirre0182@hotmail.com

check the high voltage with the screen control turned up high where there is no raster. suspect problem within the video circuit where there is no high voltage or defective picture tube.some time when the screen is black and the screen control advanced, you can see if the tv has video or vertical or horizontal problems on the screen.service the high voltage circuit if there is no raster or high voltage is seen.no raster can be caused by the no heater or filament in the CRT.---- a defective picture tube can cause many problems, such as, poor brightness ,missing colors, intermittent picture, poor focus,a single-colored raster, arching in the gun assembly, retrace lines in the picture, negative picture, chassis shutdown, noheater or filament lit and no raster to name a few.an open filament or heater can cause no picture or no raster symptom.a defective CRT can have an extremely bright screen.loose particles of the cathode element can lodge between the grids and cause an intermittent black and white picture. simply tap the ends of the CRT gun assembly and notice if the picture begins to flash off and on.---- with a leaky picture tube after turn on the raster dims and get extremely bright.a dim picture with no green in the raster can result from a bad green assembly. a heater-to-cathode short can cause a raster to change colour or a result in no raster at all.replace the picture tube if there is severe arching in the neck of CRT. excessive brightness with retrace lines and a vertical collapse to a thin line can be caused by a bad coil on the neck board of the picture tube.rejuvenate the picture tube when there is very bright green screen. check for the resistance change on the resistors of the CRT neck board for an excessively bright picture with retrace lines.excessive dust inside the CRT spark gaps within the picture tube socket can cause the very bright raster and the chassis shutdown.a defective video amp, luminance buffer,or reference transistor can cause a bright picture with retrace lines. -------- for getting any required parts to replace you can get it from www.radioshack.com or from www.partstore.com or from www.shopjimmy.com --------- thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.

Vertical jitters on picture - JVC AV48P776

What you are experiancing is loss of High voltage. The line is called a retrace line. It is usally caused by failure of the flyback circuit or aging of the TV tube. This is the single most common failure with CRT based display systems. The high voltage can be tweaked up, to accomidate for the age of the tube. Its a short term solution. Because of the high voltage nature of this circuit, suggest a professional repair.

CRT Rear-Projection Red Vertical Alignment

You may have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos.

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

2c07611.pngSolution

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

I have a Sanyo tv with sound an a horizontal white line on the screen. Where should I start looking for the problem?

A horizontal white line on the screen means that you have problem on vertical section. It might be the vertical IC or other components near that IC.

57H81Toshiba Blue Line not straight

You have a bad convergence output IC in the blue vertical circuit. On the bottom side of the chassis you will see a " V " printed by the heat sink. You will need to unsolder the heat sink and the 20 pins on the IC to remove it. Replace with STK 392-180 (sanyo) if possible or STK 392-150. Looking from the rear the heat sinks are big aluminum finned rectangles. There are 2 heat sinks one marked H and one Marked V. Even though you have a horizontal line your problem is in the vertical IC. Be sure to use a liberal dose of heat sink compound.
