Question about PC Desktops

My whole screen has magnified (everything has become giant size) and I can't figure out how to resize it back to normal - it just happened for no reason

    No, it's not that simple.

    Its my screen resolution that automatically changes each time I start up the computer and everytime I change it back it reverts to the giant size the next time

    My desktop is magnified, too. There is no magnifier icon in the tray or desktop. The resolution is at the highest, as this was one suggestion. It was already there.

you have enabled your magnifier. thats why it happened. you can make it normal after closing maginfier by right clicking the magnifier icon place on your destop or tray where clock exist.

    dear, then check that ur vga drive is installed properly or ur monitor is causing this problem. both possibilities can be happened. if your vga driver installation is doubtful then u have to reinstall it but first check if u can attach another monitor just for checking purpose. if the problem resolved then its b'coz of monitor and if it remains the same then u have to reinstall the vga driver.

Icons on windows desktop

You can resize the icons on your desktop as follows:

right click anywhere on the desktop and select view and then you will have the option to select different sizes for your icons.

When I open pages they keep minimizing and I have to resize every time. How can I make the pages stay at normal size

When you open any page restore its size. Then it would open always in that size. This happens normally. In your case, Right Click on the page TOP, there would option of size, set it to normal.

Enlarge size of font

Hello Lois.

On a web page or in email click view at the top of your page and look down the list for text size. Hover over it and a list of options will open on the right.

Also in the view tab there is a zoom option to magnify the whole screen.

My laptop screen is zoomed in which is making all my icons huge. It makes my Internet pages huge also. How can I zoom out so my screen is back to normal size?

use this if using windows vista/windows 7

Set the zoom level in Magnifier. This can display objects on the screen up to sixteen times larger than actual size. Follow these steps to choose the magnification level that you want.

  1. ? to open Magnifier.

  2. In the Scale Factor list, select a level. The zoom level in the Magnifier window will change right away. Adjust the level until it's right for you.

use this if in windows xp

  • 1 Click the "Start" button in Windows.

  • 2 Select "Control Panel."
  • 3 Select "Appearance and Themes."
  • 4 Select "Change the Screen Resolution."
  • 5 Look at the left side of the "Display Properties" dialog window. About half way down the screen you will see a box labeled "Screen resolution." There is an adjustable slider in this box.
  • 6 Move the slider left or right, by holding down the left mouse button, and moving the mouse in the appropriate direction. Release the button when the slider is pointing to the resolution you desire.
  • 7 Click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of the window. The screen will go black for an instant, and then will switch to the new resoulution. You will also see a message pop up asking you to confirm the setting. If you are unsatisfied with the appearance, then click "no," and try another resolution. Otherwise, click "yes."

  • or try the accessibility mode

    1) press start goto control panel be sure use are in classic view

    2) select accessibilty options and select display tab and uncheck the enlarged icons option and apply and click on ok. this will reset all programs to a smaller view.

    The font on the computer is giant sized. How do I

    In XP right clcik on Desktop and go to properties. Go to the last tab of the display properties and set the screen resolution to a higher resolution. Make sure you have the latest video drivers installed.
    In Vista Right click on the desktop and go to Personalize and change the screen resolution.

    Text too wide for PC screen.

    many answers to this question , depending on monitor size and browser , a very good work around is to hold the control key on keyboard and roll your mouse wheel to resize the page your viewing . what is your monitor size and it resolution setting and what browser are you using ? so its possible to walk you thru setting adjustments.

    My screen magnified and everything is BIG. How can I get it back to normal? Even my screen saver is blown up to a giant size

    Right Click on your desktop. click the properties option. goto the display settings tab. thier you can change the size of "view". either large or small. these instructions will apply for almost any o/s.
