When playing Halo Reach online I cant hear any friends in custom playlist. This is both in game and in lobby. If we join a chat party then we can hear each other fine though. When in matchmaking I can hear...

Depending on which type of chat session you are connected to... everyone needs to be in the same chat menu. Sometimes when switching from game chat to party chat you might still be stuck in game chat while others are in private chat or visa versa.

To talk to only players in your game: Press the Guide button, then select Party, Party Options, Chat Channel, and Game Chat.

To talk to only members of the party: Press the Guide button, then select Party, Party Options, Chat Channel, and Party Chat.

To mute an individual: Press the Guide button, then select Party, the player's gamertag, and Mute.

It is a possibility that you are not in the same chat session with your friends. they might be in a party chat with others while you are in game chat. (note you can only have a max of 8 people in one party chat) Or you might still be in a party chat (that everyone else has left) and they are in game chat.
To... Do this... Talk to only players in your game Press the Guide button, then select Party, Party Options, Chat Channel, and Game Chat. Talk to only members of the party Press the Guide button, then select Party, Party Options, Chat Channel, and Party Chat. Mute an individual Press the Guide button, then select Party, the player's gamertag, and Mute.

  • Online safety and privacy settings may block access to Xbox LIVE chat.
  • To use Xbox LIVE parties and chat, Voice and Text must bet set to Friends or Everyone

How to get xbox live from your xbox

Hello Nick!Well there's multiple things you have to do to get xbox live up and running so you can play online!
First things first, you need an internet connection. That's simple to set-up just plug in a Ethernet cord into the back of your xbox
Next you need to power the xbox on and decide what kind of member you want to be. You could be silver and that gets you the basic online functions, (chat, multiplayer, friends list) and that's free. But being a Gold member gets you all the benefits! You get free demos, videos, and all kinds of stuff. That's about 60 bucks a year.
After you do that you make a gamertag and enter in your credit card info if you becoming a Gold member and your good to go! It's all simple instructions laid out on the xbox so its not difficult.
Happy Gaming!

I dont know how to set up xbox live help me

Most people say they get a free month when they sign up for xbox 360 for the first time. I was one of those people so I can confirm it. They are two way to do it, online with a PC and with the 360 itself.

go to this link: xbox live signup .Once you get there you will have options. There is a free Silver version that lets you download demos and DLC. This can be upgraded to gold later so you can play online.

You can also sign up for gold but you will need to use a credit card or use a code you can purchase at a electronics, department store or even 711. To redeem a code there is a little menu on the left of the screen. Click redeem code and click on "redeem code" and it will ask you for the code. Put your code in these and your good to go!

To sign up with your xbox be sure you have your xbox connected to the internet and start it. When you start it go into the menu and choose the "try xbox live" option or "sign up for xbox live"......sorry I forget what it is says exactly. Go thru much of the same process.

You will also need a "microsoft passport" it will tie in things like your msn email and msn screenname.

Comment back if you need anymore help or with more questions.

see you on live!!!!
