Question about Miele KFN8762SDED Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
Hi Philtac, when purchased the house we purchased the appliances and we were not provided with manuals etc. I have been trying to sort out what is the best setting for the fridge e.g. 0 to 7 and whether or not the -/0 switch should be at - or 0...
Also, the freezer seems to frost up fairly rapidly and I am not sure if it is a frost-free unit or not as I do not have a manual. I would 'assume' that it is as most freezers now a days are...aren't they?
I also have ice drops formed on the back wall of the refridgerator. I again am 'assuming' that the fridge is approx. 7.5 yrs old.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Back of Fridge icing up
If the fan is running you more than likely have a defrost problem.
look at the back wall of the freezer section if it is frosted up. it's not defrosting.
There three components in this system. The defrost heater, the defrost termination stat., and the defrost timer. Newer refrigerators do not have a timer per say it is build into a electronic board usually mounted on the back of the refrigerator under a metal plate. The termination stat is the cheapest part @ $ 25.00. The heater should run @ 50.00 to 70.00. The board could be as much as 200.00 or more. If the refrigerator is over 10 years old you may wish to look into getting a replacement. Appliances are designed to start failing after 10 years old.
If you unplug the refrigerator let it defrost then plug it back in. it will work properly about 3 days before it frosts back up.

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber
Your question is: freezer is icing up and fridge temperature has risen to 10 from 5. Also alot of condensation in the fridge and the fan doesnt seem to be working in fridge. Correct temperature on freezer -18 but ice. new frost free fridge freezer bought 1.5 weeks ago
This is no problem for you. You are under warranty and as long as you have not tryed to repair it yourself you are completely covered. Look for the manufacturer's warranty phone number on the paper work that came with it or call the sales man, he will be happy to track that down for you because he wants repeat business.
If you bought it used the only answer is to return it. You could get a local pro to repair it at yuor own expense but I wouldn't recomend that for a frige only 1.5 weeks old!

Call Service. 1-800-999-1360 (US) or the Canadian number. Most likely the circulation fan and/or damper flap could be out of whack.

F2 indicates that there is a defrost problem. For this reason, if you turn off and defrost the fridge manually, the unit will work for a while after doing defrost.
You said that you replaced temperature sensor. What is called temperature sensor is different from the defrost thermostat, which is one of the parts involved in the fault.
If there is no defrost cycle, or if defrost is insufficient, problem is usually the defrost thermostat. The thermostat is located behind the freezer section rear wall, where the evaporator resides. To access it you need to remove frozen food and undo screws holding the back panel. The thermostat is a metal cylinder shaped object connected to two wires and clipped to the evaporator. The thermostat can be tested using a multimeter set on impedance. If reading impedance at room temp. on the thermostat contacts is infinity (circuit open),then the thermostat must be replaced. In the same way is tested the defrost heater. Check also that evaporator fan is starting.
If parts in the evaporator section are working, then the problem can be the defrost timer, which starts the defrost once every 8 hours.
Here how thermostat looks like. In same page read also the repair instructions from other users.
