Cold solder issues - each component is soldered into small holes on the printed circuit board which in turn connects said component to the other components. Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected (hanging by a thread). When the philips receiver turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. Jarring the unit creates movement inside enough to re establish the contact, sometime good enough sometimes not enough.

Again, since the unit still operates (sometimes) then it is highly probable that there are no defective components. As you have surmised, it is possibly a loose connection, solder joints are "connections" except that molten soldering lead is used to attach/connect the component to the board, "loose connection" in this sense is equal to "cold solder".

Again on the assumption of no defective parts, then seeking a more experienced buddy for the soldering might be to your advantage. This is of course in addition to the possible electrical hazards when repairing....

You may need to use an adapter to connect the mini stereo plug if the front panel PHONES connector is standard size.

Kenwood A722L no sound and volume led blinking

This could be due to a faulty speaker relay (if your unit uses one). Normally, the unit will "wait" a couple of seconds after you turn the unit on. Then you will hear a "click" and the sound will begin coming through the speakers. If the relay is faulty, it would cause the problem you describe.

When the vehicle is off and stereo is off the speakers are making loud popping and banging noises all the time over the last week? when the vehicle is running and stereo on no popping noises

This can be tricky; there are several things that might cause this 'phantom' problem. You did not state if you have an alarm system. The alarm may be tied into your speakers and/or linked to the stereo itself. I would not initially suspect a ground issue since the stereo works well while powered. I would suspect a power feed issue. This can be tested by removing the fuse for the stereo and seeing if the issue continues. If the problem stops, the source may be internal to the stereo and you may need to get an aftermarket stereo - or pull the fuse every time you stop ( sucky solution, I know!) . I think this may be an issue resolved by a reputable stereo shop. Possibly a strategically placed Diode may solve the problem - a hands on diagnostic is certainly called for. You did not mention if the problem decreases or stops overnight. I would think this can cause your battery to drain over an extended period of time - and ruin the speakers too, if they're not affected already. I would try contacting the Dealer first and, as this problem has gone unresolved for so long, see if you can get them to replace the stereo or at the least pay the stereo shop to fix it.
best of luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

How to connect philips shd8900 HiFi wireless headphones to an 5.1 amplifier

Look at the manual.

http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/s/shd8900_10/shd8900_10_dfu_eng.pdf

It only accepts stereo input. Your unnamed 5.1 system will determine what it has for headphone or Line Level stereo outputs.

I have a Harmon Kardon HK 3370 Stereo Receiver and a Samsung LCD LE40C530F1W. When I connect the stereo Aux jack to the LCD Audio jacks ( red and white rf cables ) I get no sound out via the receiver.

Obviously make sure your stereo mode selector is set to AUX and the volume on the stereo is turned up at least a little when you test it.

If you still have no luck then try increasing the volume on the TV as well. You may have it set so that the level of the audio signal leaving the rear output connectors on the TV varies with the TV volume. That way if your TV volume was turned down or muted when you tested it, then you would not hear anything coming through your stereo.

There should be a setting in the AUDIO OPTIONS menu of your TV where you can switch between a VARIABLE AUDIO OUTPUT and a FIXED AUDIO OUTPUT level.

With the FIXED audio output level, you control the volume of the TV audio coming through the stereo speakers with the stereo remote only.

Otherwise it should work.

Good luck.

How do I get the stereo sound through my tv so when I am watching my tv stations I get stereo?

Hi,your TV automatically switches to Stereo mode and a pilot lamp comes on most TV sets.
If you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver, you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks of your TV to "AUX input " or "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) than just switch to respective mode corresponding your RCA connection..
There you go..Your TV sound is on the Receiver..
Take care and pls remember to rate me..
Thanks

Kenwood Receiver connected to my pc

using the Y adapter method (i am guessing you are using just a single stereo mini-jack cable with a mini-jack to RCA adapter) you are only sending a standard Stereo signal to the receiver. Setting 5.1 in windows is just simulating (if using Stereo) or actually mixing 5.1 if you are using analog 5.1 (3 stereo mini-jack cables going to 3 mini-jack to RCA adapters using a 6 channel DVD input). if you have a surround sound audio card i suggest using the Analog 6 channel input by using 3 stereo cables each with their only adapter.

or, if you have a Digital output (Coaxial or TOSlink [optical]) try using that.

good luck.
