Question about Dell OptiPlex 170L PC Desktop
I am getting the following error Every time I start the optiplex 170L PC. Its probably a hard drive error huh. It seems that the PC automatically one day Shut down and got the following error and my PC isnt usually powered on most of the time. any fix for this??? I wonder how I can disable this SMART technology. Of course we can do it in Hp pcs.
notice:The primary IDE master hard drive SELF MONITORING SYSTEM has reported that a parameter has exeeded its normal operating range
dell recommends that you back up your data regularly.
A parameter out of range may or may not indicate a potential hard drive problem.
Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility.
Sure sound like you hard drive is starting to have a problem. I would clean and defrag it after backing it up. start- my computer- right click on hard drive-properties-disk cleanup/ After that then 'tools defrag hard drive. then run scan disk
