I also have the blurred & streaked pink LCD picture. The camera is only three years old.
I have changed the batteries, using both rechargeables & Duracells.
I also took it to a Ritz camera center. The guy told me that the image finder was not working.

I also have the same problem after about two to three years of minimal use - I use it for work.

I had the same problem. How i fix it?

  • b2raj67 Aug 05, 2008

My A95 was working all fine, when suddenly one day the LCD monitor showed everything blurred, no clear focus. Powered down the camera, again powered up, then it was okay. The problem repeated again after a few days. Sometimes the LCD is streaked with pink stretches. However, the problem does not always show up. Changing the Canon rechargeable batteries did not help. The camera is not even three years old.I live in India. Please help.

    I have the same problem..

  • pi4er Aug 31, 2008

Same camera, same age, same issue. The LCD itself is working, since I can view older pictures, but any new picture I take is the pinkish blur as of above. I suspect is some software issue . Anybody knowing how to reset the camera to factory setting? An electro-expert once reset a camera with some electricity-jump (risking complete death of camera) and then camera was fine; I am no electro-expert. Any hidden button-press full-reset solution?

Writing to add to the little list here. Problems — the same as you all — pink picture, streaked picture, sepia type picture, blurred picture. Sometimes as written, sometimes fine. Video ok!? 5 yo. Love the camera.

Thanks for your feedback and for the answer. Taken a load off our minds. Have just written to Canon Japan (live in J) and hope to send it in for repair after we get a reply. Thanks again and good luck. TM

Exactly the same problem with my PowerShot A95. I had no problem for four years but all of a sudden, I start gettinng a pink blurred image each time I take a shot. No problem appears when I just watch the screen or try to shot a video, but at the moment I press tye button to take a picture I get this awfull blurred pink image. Hope there is some solution for this problem since I love my camera (we traveled a lot together).

I have exactly the same problem with my camera. I'm sure now it's a manufacturing defect.

Hi Sunil. The problem with your Canon A95 is quite common on cameras of 4 or 5 years ago. The repair is quite expensive, as the main imaging chip (CCD) has absorbed some moisture over time. There is more in-depth information here: http://www.imaging-resource.com/badccds.html

There are quite a few of us with symilar problem, but the screen is not completely black: it has some purple or pinkish color when facing light. Old pics and menu can still be viewed. I noticed 4 symilar threads on Canon A95 within the last 5 mins without any search, just looking at the top questions.

CCD sensor faulty ( it starts with 'noisy' picture and ends with no image whatsoever ). The sensor should be replaced free of charge since properly manufactured one should last you 15 + years.
