Question about Canon Cameras

1 Answer

I have 2 Canon Power Shot 70 cameras (one was a gift) The oldest I have owned for approximately 4 years...the other one slightly less. About one year ago while on vacation, the camera refused to take photos....all I got on the screen were a series of light pink-lavendar horizontal lines in a black background. Last week while at church camp the other camera did exactly the same thing!! Consumer Reports is recommending a Canon camera and at this point I am "gun-shy"! Do you have any suggestions? This problem is obviously a design flaw. Does Canon stand behind their products?? Thanks for your help! Sindrely yours, **** Dorsch

Yes it is a design flaw, basically what happend is the image interpereter and preprocessor are shot.. The integrated method of the design leaves the irrepirable.. I dont use canon products except for printers and scanners when it comes to camera's i use Hp or Pioneer, Consumer support suggested a new camera cause they know where they messed up

Erro 70 on my canon T1i

Hi there:

This is Canon's word on the Err 70 message:
- Turn the power switch to <ON> to turn on the power again.
- Remove and re-install the battery.
- Use a Canon lens.
- If the instructions above do not solve the problem, please contact your nearest Canon Service Center.

It appears you have done all this. The camera will need servicing. If it is less than one year old, since date of purchase, you should call 1-800-OK-CANON and put in a claim for failure within warranty, and Canon ought to fix it for you for free.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Can my viviter 70-210 f/4 fd mount be mounted on canon eos d500 without adapter?

Hi,
Unfortunately it cannot.
However there are some amazing adapters out there. They start about $10.00 on eBay and go up from there. There is on that sells for about $55 that will connect the Vivitar to the Auto focus confirmation signal in the camera, so that when the lens is focused manually, you hear the camera's signal to confirm focus.
Hope this helps.
Happy New Year,
Mark

I have a canon power shot A495 digital camera. problem with camera is new or fully charged batteries discharges after taking 4 to 5 photos when taken with flash

all the canon cameras batteries do not last more than 2 years.
the best would be to purchase a new battery which you can find at any Target, OfficeMax of a sort department stores.

My Canon Powershot A95 was exposed to seawater over a year ago. It now, more or less, has a mind of its own. No controls respond, and it takes pictures on its own

The salt in the seawater corrodes the circuits causing your current problems. Repairs would eventually be more than replacing the camera.

Canon Warranty

I have the same problem... The composition of CCDs on several products of different brands have the same problem (heat and humidity will damage the chip). Contact a SERVICE CENTER OF CANON in your area and request instructions. They have to replace/repair their products free of charge to the customers.
I sent an email today to CANON USA requesting instructions.

Good luck!

You need to power it with rechargable batteries. with the MAH being no less than 2000. I bought a charger which came with 2batteries for less than a tenner
