I am a digital photographer, there could be many things causing this, i'm assuming it is in the camera. once you rest the camera back to defaults, set it at the "most" auto setting you have. go outside, point it at something typical like a tree, car, anything other than the sky or snow or anything black. we need to get a photo from something normal colored to see what the camera is doing. if everything is set to default it will give you a good picture. from your description i'm assuming the photos you have are being shot at very high iso speeds and/or very low shutter speedds which indicates a setting problem. try it and let me know what you find. if you can post the picture here, i might be able to get the data from the photo to help figure this out.
