I could not connect my ipod. I went so far as to purchase a new Linksys NUltra RangePlus. Still no luck. I have tried resetting the internet info, but Ipod Touch still says, "Unable to Connect." I WAS able to connect on a unsecure Linksys network, but not my own secured one.Very frustrated right now. Thanks for "listening."

Solution #1 is always what apple agent do with iPhone and iPod touch calls. If that doesn't work they always recommend calling your ISP ( internet service provider ) however; you can actually do this yourself.
This may work but simply restart your router. Unplug your wireless G or B router from the wall. Wireless N routers will not work and are not compatible with both of these devices. Even though your computer may be working fine. The iPhone and iPod touches are not compatible with wireless N routers.
After disconnect the wireless router from the wall. Leave it unplugged for 5min or more, then re-connect it. This is called resetting your router.
After resetting your router turn your wi-fi off on your device and turn it back on and you should have some luck. If asks for password. enter in your password to join.

I had the same exact problem where it says the server stopped responding, and it look me a while to figure out how to fix it but all i did was go to setting>wifi and then turn wifi off. Then i unpluged all the cables from my router and then plugged them back in. Then on my computer I went to: control panel>Network Connections>clicked on my wifi connection>then a little box appeared and it has 2 colums at the top (general and Support)>i went to support and clicked repair. After this my Wifi started working properly again. (remember to turn wifi back on your ipod when your done) woooow im a genius =)

I had the same problem with my ipod. it would connect to the router and show signal strength but, when I clicked on safari it would say not connected to the internet. What worked for me was to go to my routers set up page.(the web address, username and password were on the back of the router.) I had set a different password for each different encryption type wep,wpa wpa2 and wpa+wpa2 so I made it the same password for all the different encryptions and set it 2 the wpa+wpa2 setting. I haven't had a problem since. I haven't checked to see if it works with any of the other encryption types because it ain't broke so I ain't gonna try fix'in it. :)

If you go to settings>general>reset>reset network settings if it displays an apple just wait till it takes you to the home screen
now do a full reset on the ipod (hold down the home button and the button on the top until it displays an apple)
now you should go to settings>network and it will let you connect to your desired network, just put in the password and you should be all taken care of! :)

How do I make my iPod Touch Connect to an Unsecure Network

Unsecured wireless Internet networks are available in many cafes and public spaces. An unsecured network is a wireless Internet connection that does not require a password. Use your iPod Touch Wi-Fi capability to connect to these networks and the Internet. Although excellent for surfing and email, avoid carrying out banking or financial information into an unsecured network, because there is a possibility that the signal is intercepted.

1. Open the Settings menu of your iPod Touch. It is the gray gear icon on the home screen.

2. Tap "WiFi" and move it to "On" if needed. If your Wi-Fi is already activated, you will see a pop-up asking if you have the unsecured network. Some companies, like Starbucks, have a "Log In" screen appears automatically.

3. Click "Yes" or "Join" for the network to automatically connect when prompted. The text may vary depending on the company, and you may need to read and agree to the terms and conditions statement. If no login screen appears, wait until you play for scanning available Wi-Fi signals. The list is displayed.

4. Select the network name you want to join the list. An unsecured network has a password, so you will not be asked to give.

5. Click on "automatic network in the future" when asked if you want to do.

6. Wait until the light of the Wi-Fi indicator in the upper left corner of the touch. This indicates that you are online and ready to ride.
I dont know what to do to my Ipod on itunes all it keeps saying is connect to itunes what do i do

Is the Ipod on when you connect it? If so, reset it and connect it again. If that doesn't work, check that the cord you are using isn't broken or your Ipod's jack isn't messed up. If it still doesn't work try a different usb slot on your computer.

Ipod touch is disabled

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update.
  2. Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer.
  3. Select your iPhone or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
  4. Select the Summary tab.
  5. Select the Restore option.
  6. When prompted to back up your iPhone or iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
  7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (As long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your phone).
  8. Once the restore process has completed the iPhone or iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up. NOTE:For the iPhone only, after a restore, the iPhone displays the "Connect to Activate" screen. During this period you must continue to keep your device connected to complete activation and make sure you are connected to the internet.
  9. The final step is to restore your iPhone or iPod touch from a previous backup. So on the setup screen select the back up you want for your iPhone or iPod touch and select the Continue button in order to complete your device's restoration.

IPod touch Digital Media Player: i have an ipod touch and it claims i have full int...

This is most likely a problem with the internet connection itself. There are a few things you might need to check. First, an iPod touch will usually only work on a Channel 6 internet connection, though it can connect to other channels. Second, you should make sure that there is an internet connection with the wireless network, and that it's not local only, but instead local and internet.

Select "Settings" and then "Wi-Fi." Verify that the Wi-Fi is switched to the "On" position. Also, verify that you are not connected to a "closed" connection (indicated by a lock icon next to the connection icon).

Ipod not getting connected to itunes nor getting charged, and please recommend which ipod converter to download. Thank you in advance my ipod is not charged, when connected to a computer

hello!

if your IPod touch is not connected to itunes, please try the ff:

Check the iPod touch Display
-- When you connect iPod touch to your computer, the iPod touch should display an image or message on the display

-- If you do not see any image, check some basic troubleshooting here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1737
-- If you see a message on the screen, this indicates that the iPod touch does not have sufficient battery charge to operate and will need to be charged for several minutes before it can be recognized in iTunes.

Verify Windows PC System Requirements

--iPod touch requires iTunes 7.4 or later
Check USB Connections

-- iPod touch requires USB 2.0 to function properly
-- Try connecting iPod touch to a different USB port, preferably a port that is built-in to the computer instead of an external USB hub. Connecting iPod touch to your keyboard's USB ports is not recommended.

Restart your PC

-- In some cases, your computer's USB ports may become temporarily disabled or you may experience other software related issues. Restarting your PC is an easy troubleshooting step that may resolve this issue.

Verify iPod touch Driver/Service Installation

-- iPod touch requires two important pieces of software to operate properly on Windows. First, the driver must be installed; for iPod touch the driver is USBAAPL.SYS. Second, Apple Mobile Device Support must be installed as a Windows Service.
