Question about Fisher and Paykel 23 in. DD-603SS Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Code F2 I just replaced the door switch on an inoperable DD-602. My top drawer was working fine, but my bottom one has been offline for a while (door switch failed and I never got around to fixing it since I had the top). Well, my top finally failed too so I replaced both switches. Looks like everything is good on the top, but my bottom is erroring with an F2 code now. Kindof makes a thumping noise as it starts the cycle -- maybe 3-5 short thumps and then a 10 second delay, repeats. Any ideas? Could I get a copy of the service manual too? chris@seekonk.org

F2 code on Fisher Paykel dishwasher

The problem is linked to rotor operation during discharge cycle. By replacing the rotor with bottom will only address part of the problem. There is very likely some obstruction in the pump cavity. This is the small channel connecting the drain sump and the pump cavity. Grab a thin but rigid wire and clear this channel. Usually a bone chip or some seed.
Also confirm if the top rotor worked ok when you moved it to the bottom drawer.

I have a f1 come up and a f2 on my dishwasher what is it

f1 = Flood Code

This means that the dishwasher most likely has a leak

There is a float switch in the bottom of the machine and when water gets down there it trips the code

F2 = Roter not moving

you can remove the basket and spray arm and pull the roter out and make sure its clean and give it a try.

Our machine has F1 error what does this mean please

The cause will depend on whether the F1 is showing in both drawers or just one - which one?

It is caused by the flood switch located on the base to trigger and is usually due to water leaking. In some cases it is linked to thermal fuse blowing in bottom drawer, but in that case will show up only in top drawer and bottom drawer will have no power.

Hope this helps.

I have a F&P Model DD602I. I had a repairman out to change out hoses that were bad and now I have this problem: When I just run the bottom unit, it works fine, but a bunch of water ends up in the top...

Try to isolate the drain hose of the top drawer by disconnecting from the U hose. Run the bottom drawer.

Similarly isolate bottom drawer and then run top drawer.

See if problem is linked to back flow from drain.

I am assuming by now you may have already solved the problem.

My top drawer won't start. it doens't seem to

Most likely problem is the drawer close sensor mounted at the back of the housing is faulty. The lock function on these is electronic and unless the controller detects the drawer has closed it will not start the lock motors.

You will have to replace the sensor to make this work. There is a possibility the drawer may have come off the rail and therefore not travel to the end. This can be checked by inspecting the travel of the drawer.

In any case you will have to take the drawer out from the housing. see page 7 step 2 of the installation manual for this. This is for a later model but your model should be similar.

Fisher & Paykel DD601 top drawer won't start. When start button pressed dishwasher just makes a beeping sound and will not start. Bottom drawer works normally. Any help appreciated.

Most likely the micro-switch that tells the controller that the drawer is closed is broken. Its a tiny little black switch at the back of the left drawer slide, it had a metal actuator that is prone to breaking.

Water not draining from drawer

Could be the little non return valve mounted underneath the top drawer. Lie down on the floor under the top drawer, remove the main plastic pannel covering the bottom to expose the black drainage hose (you may need to cut away a cable tie). Remove the drainage hose from bottom of the drawer - at the start of the drainage hose there will be a small rubber type flap - if it looks broken or worn out, it will need replacing - call F & P for a replacement, approx $5 + postage for a pair (one for the top drawer and one for the bottom)
Hope this helps
