Question about PC Desktops

I purchased your program thinking it would convert all MAC programs to PC format. I am trying to convert McFamilytree so I can use it on my PC and I cannot. If this is not possible could I get a refund as the program is of no value to me other than this conversion

Does anyone know a PC program that will accept data from McFamilytree? The person that has the data I need has a MAC and of course like almost everyone else I have a PC.

Greetings,

Mileage varies with Conversion Softwares.
Some converted software works, some fails specially if the application was originally written for the PowerPC processor.

Keep us posted and thank you for using our service.

Im sure theres some limitations to those conversion programs.

There are quite a few family tree programs out there for PC use. Some are free as well.

Is it possible to export the data from McFamilytree into another program?

Sir I think you misunderstood the program, It does not convert the SOFTWARE it converts the file formats, basically what it does is convert windows files (like microsoft word .doc) to another file type that can be acessed on the Mac..

Fixya isnt responsible for that software product, we do not develop programs but rather offer supprot for them ,, if you require more information on a refund please use this link

Currently it isnt possible to convert software from one Os to another, These programs were specifically wirtten for macintosh and will not work on windows, neighter will Linux. The only software that will are os independent software. Meaing programs that are written in assembler and does not depend on libarys or Os specific calls or functions. YOu can Only convert the files saved or created by these software so that it can be read by anoter software from another operating system. e.g

you can convert a Apple power book file to be read my microsoft word or vice versa.

But to convert the program itself is currently impossible.

I will help as best as i can in assiting you in what ever way possible

No it does not. You need to download a program from the Internet to convert video files or DVDs.
You did not say what you want to convert the DVD to what video format.
I suggest you do a Google search for DVD video conversion programs.

Problem in opening picture files

Its possible that you installed a graphic program that upon install it changed the extension of your picture files. An example would be photoshop, This program could change your JPG files to PSD format upon install.
You can download a software program that can convert your pictures from the PSD ext. to JPEG. Once such program is (Easy Graphic Converter), It is Free... Another excellent program is Graphic Workshop. I think that one is trial but it has a time limit.

If you don't want to go that route you can go into your file ext. settings and change it to where a jpg file will be opened with another program other than PhotoShop. This might solve your problem.

To get to this screen, you can go into ( My Documents ) click on ( tools) at the top on the menu bar. Then click on ( Folder Options ). From there click in ( File Types ). Then find your JPG ext.
and it will tell you what program opens your jpg files. If it says CS3, change it to something else like WIndows Picture and Fax Viewer or something else.

You sound like you tried to install XP with Vista running - this will generate the message that you have received.

To install XP on your system, insert your XP disk into the computer and then restart it.

Select Boot From Disk during start up and this will lead you into the XP Installation.

Xp will not recognise Vista and will just overwrite it - deleting the current OS and formatting the C:\

Good luck.

Apple & windows compatible

Most of your standard file types (pdf, doc, etc) can be used on both systems w/ no changes. open office is a great program for windows/linux/mac that does all your standard office stuff and its free (and a better product than office IMHO) http://www.openoffice.org

Your disc must you converting from ISO format to UDF format; the same systems can read that (WIN and MAC too).
You can do it with the Nero burning program, with the menu "create UDF disk".
Otherwise you must convert your files what contains the cam's drivers to *.dmg format,MAC os can read it too.
Hope,that will helps to you.
