The Best Way to Transfer Pictures From Your Camera to Your Computer

The best way to transfer pictures from a camera with an SD memory card to a computer is to do it outside of the camera. If your computer does not have an SD card reader built in, you can buy an external USB card reader for $20 or less on E-bay, Amazon, etc. Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in the card reader. Your computer will treat the card reader and SD card just like it treats an external hard drive. Either drag-n-drop or copy and paste your pictures from the SD card file to a file on your hard drive. If after you have copied and backed up your files you want to reformat your SD card, replace it in the camera and format it in the camera, not in the computer. SD cards formatted in a computer will often not work in your camera because of slight differences in the formatting.

LG Ally Android phone says it's checking the SD card for errors. Can't access SD card.

you can try plugging the SD card into your computer with an SD card adapter and see if you can access your files.

You may have to format your SD card if you cannot access your files this way. from the phone go to settings, SD Card - phone storage (some phones its labeled different) From there you can format your SD card, depending on your phone you may have to choose Unmount SD card first.

If you continue to receive errors or are unable to format the card, it is most likely that the SD card is bad and needs to be replaced.

My computer is not recognizing my PNY SD 1GB memory card. I can still take pictures and my camera saves them to the memory card, but when I try to transfer the pictures to my computer, it does not...

In this instance, you might want to consider either borrowing, or, purchasing and card sd reader. Some computers just don't read these cards from their built-in slots, so, using an sd card reader often fixes the problem.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm missing the camera card. How do I get a

This 5MP (Megapixel) camera has 16MB built-in memory and has an SD card slot.

Your camera uses either MMC of SD memory cards.
Radio Shack, BestBuy, Fry's, Office Depot, Office Max, has them.
Start with a 1GB SD card (Don't use MMC).

A 1GB card will hold almost 500 pictures at maximum resolution (5MP).
(Fry's is lowest cost, then Best Buy)

Access data on 8Gb SD card

Hello,

Some older card readers will not read the newer HC-SD cards all memory cards larger that 4gb are HC-SD. You need to get a new card reader that states HC-SD compatible. Office Depot sells them as well as many online sites. Then just plug the new reader into a USB port and go.

I Hope this helps, If so please rate my solution.

GPS says "check SD card"

You can try a smaller SD card (1GB max), but I think the real problem is that there have to be maps on the card - they're not built in. The unit originally came with a cd with extra maps. The unit has a built in mp3 player - try putting a few mp3s on the card, and use the player - that should tell you if it's reading the SD card, anyway.

Accessing MicroSD Card - Sansa c240

wlubbert,

The memory won't read 9GB. It should read 1GB of the built-in memory, and then 8GB or slightly less from the SD card. They are actually separate "drives". From this standpoint, it seems like there are 2 possibilities:

1) The player isn't compatible with that new, top of the line SD card. (Most likely the case.)

2) The card is defective and needs to be exchanged under warranty or your money refunded.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!
