I have a Brookstone digital

About a month after receiving as a Christmas gift last year (2007), the frame (model AH1812-B) at first would freeze on the Brookstone logo screen. Of course, the receipt was thrown out. After sitting on a shelf for 10 months, I tried it again, and now the screen doesn't even illuminate. What an expensive piece of sh*t. Any chance for a class-action suit against trash like this being sold to consumers?

I got Brookstone digital picture frame for a Christmas present and just recently it stopped working. It won't boot and when I turn it on only the Brookstone logo appears. None of the other buttons work and when plugged in to the computer there is no communication.

I contacted Brookstone and was told that without an original receipt I am out of luck even if I'm within the 1 year warranty period, which I am. If the frame was purchased on line however they can access your receipt and will exchange your frame for a new one.

I have the exact same problem as posted by pb08 on 7/28 with the Brookstone My Life eight inch digital picture show (MD AH1212-B) that refuses to boot. Only "Brookstone" and copyright information appears on the screen. No memory bar appears. Then the digital frame will not turn off unless you remove the power cord.
Like pb08 I am unable to use the computer to reformat the device as it appears there is no communication, USB port show Unknow Device. No flash memory is recognized when plugged into the device.

Is there any way to completely erase the digital frame memory and reinitialize the software/hardware? Are there any button combinations that will reset the device upon power-up? When connected to my computer I get a message that "This folder is empty". I am unable to use the computer to reformat the device as it appears there is no communication. No flash memory is recognized when plugged into the device.

Brookstone is absolutely no help. They will not even attempt to find technical help and they will not even give me the time of day since I do not have the original cash register reciept.
