Hi I just adopted a Samsung LNT4669F from someone for free and they told me it doesn't work due to the fact that the man dropped it. I tried plugging it in but not even a click. Any ideas? Thanks C

Any time you drop a piece of sensitive electronics like a television you run the risk of breaking several different electronic connections. You will need to break open the tv and look for anything obvious. If you don't then you will most likely need to pay for a repair that will many times cost more than the tv is worth. Impossible to say from what you have told us so far.

No Video or Sound after power outage

While it's certainly possible to fry the whole power supply or the DMD board, it's more likely that you've blown a capacitor. This same situation happened to my brother's TV after a power outage. I told him to unplug it for a half hour and that didn't help. He left it unplugged and when I finally got around to open it up the following week, I turned it on and worked. (I told him I fixed it).

Unfortunately the same thing happened after the next power outage so I opened it up and replaced two leaking capacitors by the power cord. It has yet to fail again after numerous power outages.

So first thing to try is leaving it unplugged for a few hours or even a day. Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. If it does, either you or someone else should open it up and check for leaking or blown capacitors.

My Samsung tv is sorta the same

It sounds like a surge or brown out did some damage to the board, and the tv is not aligning the colors properly, possibly due to a bad relay. If you are not comfortable with repairs like this, have someone check the capacitators and resistors for visible damage. It will cost far less to have it repaired now than to tinker with it with the power on and damage more components and repair it later.

Samsung projection tv stopped working!

You will definitely have to take it to a repair shop. There are several things that could be wrong with it but the unit would have to be opened up and the circuit boards would have to check along with the lamp. All of the electrical components in projection TVs are exposed to alot of heat. Over time they can can become frail and brittle. The vibrations from the move could have damaged a component on one of the boards and then the heat from running the unit could have finished it off. I would suggest taking it to a repair shop for an estimate. Most repair shops provide free or cheap estimates( less than $100). Call them and find out before you go. Get your estimate, if it sounds like its worth the money to you to fix then go for it. If not, tell them "no thank you" and start shopping for another unit.

PCL5415R conv. board problem. Having trouble finding part number. I have the manual Samsung

I'll take a look if you want to forward them to me:
freetek@lycos.com
This convergence board problem seems to be very common and if they are not too model specific (firmware embedded) there may be service companies repairing them. I don't; haven't done a whole lot of service for years partially due to the difficulty of trying to pry stuff out of the hands (or shelves) of Asia.

Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

You will actually get white and black dots , the black ones are tougher to see because of the color in the background , within 2 months youre picture will be fully covered with dots....I went through the Samsung website troubleshooting flow chart , and it led me to a bad Digital Micromiror Device , or DMD board . What is actually the problem is the DMV chip connected to this board . Inside this chip are 3 million tiny mirrors ,and when they physically get stuck , they either show black or white instead of a color . Samsung will not tell me the part number of the chip , they will only offer to send a service tech to my house .
