Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox or Opera). Enter the IP address of your router in the address bar of the browser and press enter. The IP address of your router is by default 192.168.1.1

You see a box asking for your username and password.
By default the username and password for your D-link DSL-502T router are both admin
Enter your username and password and click the ok button to continue.

I would contact your ISP for help with this one. It should work but you would want to check the LAN and WAN settings to make sure they work on the network since there have been changes.

I have a dlink wireless router i lost the disc used to bring the setup wizard up..how do i get past this with no disc?

Try logging into the web based interface. Open up your browser (Internet Explorer) and go to 192.168.0.1 The default login is admin and the password is left blank. Here are sample instructions from the dlink website http://www.dlink.com/support/faq/

This is simple to do....after the 2nd or 50th one :-) Your computer needs to be in the same domain...ie 192.168.0.2-254 and that's usually done by plugging in a network cable into the computer and one of the router ports. You can get a quick setup guide from the main dlink support area by searching for your exact router.

Username /password to change

to change username and password in dlink router you have to access http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar of internet explorer
it will bring you to the configuration screen of dlink.. it will ask for the dlink usid and password, the default userid is "admin" , for the password leave it blank.
  1. The router's Web-based Setup Utility should appear. Do not run the wizard. Select the WAN button on the left-hand side of the screen.
  2. Select the PPPoE and Dynamic PPPoE options on the WAN settings screen.
Enter the your USERNAME and PASSWORD that your broadband connection provider gave you into the corresponding fields and select Apply and then Continue.
Once the screen refreshes, exit the browser.

now try to connect

D-Link Router & Actiontec Modem

Hi,

connect the Dlink router to the modem ActionTech->( wan port )Dlink. Login to the Router web-interface and go to STATUS & check the WAN IP address which would be modem ip address. if there is an ip address, do ping test on your computer to that ip address and see you are getting successful ping results. If so, the ping yahoo.com and see there is an successful ping for yahoo.
- If there is No WAN IP in STATUS Page, Connect the computer directly to the modem and let me know the ip address you are getting. Can I know your ISP name please?

Router won't speak with computer

If you check your computer's IP address, is it getting one from the router? Normally out of the box these routers are setup to give out DHCP, which basically means that your computer, if also set that way (again, default) will grab any necessary info from the router (IP address, subnet mask, gateway, etc). You didn't at some point set your PC to use a static IP address that's different than the D-Link's subnet did you? D-Links default to 192.168.0.1, so your computer should be getting an IP in that range as well.
