Question about ViewSonic Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I have a ViewSonic Monitor, model number Vs11307. The screen is all blurred and the screen isn't adjusting properly. The screen is shifted to the right and I have a blank rectangle at the left side. I tried auto image adjust and manual image adjust, but nothing seems to be working as I want it to.

I had the same problem same model. The image was off center to the right and it couldn't be fixed by the auto-image adjust or the manual adjust.

My solution was really simple, I moved a video player (RealPlayer) onto the monitor and maximized the screen, then pressed auto-adjust once. It worked.

It sounds as though there might be a bad connection or the display itself is bad.

First thing first make sure tha the video cable is securely connected. I would try removing the cable from both ends, making sure there aren't any broken or bent pins and reconnecting.

If there is another computer you can test I would hook the same monitor to it and see if you get the same result. Alternatively if you have another monitor you can test it out on the computer in question.

If the different monitor works fine it could be a bad VGA cable or the Viewsonic display itself. If the Viewsonic works on another computer just fine and a different monitor malfuctions on your original computer it could be a bad video card on the computer.

It's going to take a little trial and error.

Hope this helps.

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Have an LCD projector viewsonic PJ513D. We can't see well on screen.. the display is blur.. can't see anything.. What could it be?? THe lamp time used till now is 696 hrs. Please...

You need to adjust the focus lenses ring until the picture is no longer blur. It is like in the old manual film camera, some model and brand have autofocus which can adjust thru setting. So try to adjust it.

Screen shifted 4" right

Hi,
It's probably a setting on the monitor itself. Try pushing the menu buttons on the monitor, and see if there is an automatic image adjust. Or, just try turning the monitor off and on - it might readjust itself when turned on.

My Viewsonic VG2230wm refuses to use its native resolution of 1680 x 1050. Whenever I select this resolution, it registers on the computer display settings, but when I check on the monitor display panel...

You will need to adjust your monitor settings in the NVidia control panel. You can get to this by right clicking somewhere in a blank spot on your desktop and then selecting it from the menu. You will want to go into the Display section. If you aren't able to see that section, change from "Standard" to "Advanced" settings at the top of the screen.

My ViewSonic monitor is having an issue with blurring lines. Anything on the left or middle of the screen blurs to the right in a faded color, extremely noticable when I open MS Paint and fill the left...

This is a tipical flyback defect circuit, the lines can 1st appear on top/bottom of screen, then can increase to center. Send monitor to repair center, for check and repair. You can test with a tv test signal.

ViewSonic model vx922 monitor, how do I shift screen to right.

You may want to look into your video card settings about the vertical settings. Most monitors usually have just a millimeters off. I suggest to contact your computer manufacture or video card manufacture.

I have viewsonic 2230wm screen and it has gone white Put another screen onto PC it is ok , so fault with monitor

Check video cable to ensure all pins are straight. If the cable is detachable, try a different video cable.

Check the OSD menu settings (contrast, brightness, color adjustments). use the reset option to reset the monitor back to factory settings.

Check the user's guide to see if any special conversion connector or adapter is required for proper signal continuity between your specific video card and your model of LCD.

If that doesn't work, you have pretty much exhausted the things a user can do with it. here is the support contact form for Viewsonic: http://www.nohold.net/noHoldCust18/Prod_4/KnowledgePortal/KPScripts/Route.asp?RouteID=28&surveytype=4

Short, 3/8", horizontal blurs

I posted this answer on another "white streak" question, I suspect this is right:

This issue presents itself in different ways in this monitor, in the form of smeary video, or color changing from the left to right, or as you indicate, a smear following text. I know this as I own this monitor, and have repaired this myself. There are three 1 mf capacitors, surface mounted on the control board inside the monitor that fail. They are in the RGB input lines, and when they fail they cause distortion of the RGB signals, causing what you see. They are the three caps you will find in a row, spaced maybe 14mm on the board between the VGA connector and the processor chip. I would replace all three, observing polarity markings. You can get by just fine using old-style thru-hole caps, just form and clip the leads and solder 'em down on the surface-mount pads. I highly recommend proper soldering tools for this job though, especially for the removal of the old parts, they don't want to come off unless you can heat both pads at the same time.
