I'm having the same problem, it will display for a second then goes dark but light still on. Getting "no signal" message on monitor if I turn off then back on. Tried plugging into another computer but same thing. Cable is fine, no fraying. It's a crime to have to throw mercury laden lcd monitors in the dump after only a year, the company should ensure they last longer or somebody take them to court for environmental damages. Consumers don't want to be throwing these out at an alarming pace. It's crazy.

I have the exact same problem. Any fixes?

Same problem. Staples told me they do not fix these. I bought a new monitor and went for a better know brand. The Optiquest was on sale when I bought it. They must have known it had a bad reputation.

I have a similar problem with my Q9. No click but it shows on while not displaying anything. appened at same time on both PCs (I use a KVM switch for 2 PCs). I found botting to safe mode in VGA then adjusting to a different resolution solved the main issue. However it appears to have only affected 1152 by 864. Not sure why. I'll see if there anything on manufacturers website.

I have fixed one of these there are 3 capacitors on the powerboard that I replaced as they were swollen. THis fixed the issue and it has worked since.

Optiquest vs11201 monitor not above 640x480 resolution

You need to download the driver from DELL for your video card, my 3000 use video driver R79733.EXE.
You may have virus in your computer if you cannot update the drivers, sometime it is better to start from clean drive to help get rid of stuff that get installed into the computer.

Monitor doesnt turn on

From your description, it sounds like the internal 5 Amp cartridge fuse is open. Will need to open the housing and inspect the fuse for failure. If located and failed, replace it and energize the monitor.

If the fuse fails immediately, you have a High Voltage power supply short and the monitor is scrap. It will cost more to replace the power supply/transformer than the monitor is worth.

Hope this provides some useful information.

I have a Optiquest Monitor Q9. The Monitor had a cract line from top to the bottom in the middle of the screen, but it still working, I would like to find out if Optiquest would replace just the screen....

On most lcd monitors the cost of the screen is usually close to the cost of the whole monitor, my feeling is if your monitor is under warranty then they will send you another monitor. If not then your going to need to search on Ebay, Google etc to see if you can find a damaged monitor with a good screen and have it cost less then the cost of a new one.

Monitor flashes on then goes black.

I think you have the display shut off. the button on the bottom left will shut screen off. It will come on for a few seconds if you touch the screen, but will shut off again. just push the display button again and it should stay on.

Optiquest Q9

I had this problem with my Q9 and I was glad to find the FixYa website with help. But I will offer more detailed info for novices to make sure you find the capacitors. First of all, it is not easy trying to find out how to open the monitor up! First, set it down flat on it's face, being careful not to scratch the screen. Pop off the cap that covers the stand mount to the screen. You might also want to remove the base by squeezing the bottom tabs to the middle and pushing them out. Once the base cover is removed, you will see the 6 screws holding the base arm to the screen. Remove those and the arm will come off. Now, on the bottom right, there is a beveled slot where you can fit a flat bladded screw driver to start to snap open the case. Move around the case separating it carefully until it is completely un-snapped. Unplug the speaker cable (mine gave me some trouble but I worked it side to side and it finally let go). You can push the videop cable through the the back case to get the case out of the way. Once you have removed the back half of the case you will not immediately see the offending capacitors. You will need to remove 4 phillips screws holding down a metal shield on the power board. You may also have to remove some metal tape covering 2 of the screws. When the screws and tape are removed, you will need to slide the metal shield to the right to release it from a 3 pin connector that the two boards. Be careful that you don't damage that connector. Lift up on it a little and slide it left until the connector is disconnected. Now you can see the capacitors. I only had to replace the 3 bulging ones and that fixed my problem as well. Thanks all for your helpful comments in saving me money on a new monitor!!
