Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I recorded 60 minutes tonight on CBS. When I went to play the program, I could receive the audio, but the video is stuck on a single still picture of a golfer. What can I do to get the video of the 60 minutes show? Thank you. Bill Eisenbeiss

I talked to a TIVO employee who said since the problem only affected one entry and not other saved programs, tha I should just delete the non-functioning program, and see if it was just a one-time problem. That seems to be the case.

Sorry to bother you sirs, but it seems that you know much about DVD Camcord playback problem. I have a question about my camcord video output format may i ask. I have a vro file that can'tbe recognized by my VLC player, so I use this VRO mp4 converter(http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/vro-converter.html to convert the vro file to mp4. After that conversion process the .VRO file can be played again, but I do not know why the output has no audio output, no sound. Do you ever met such a kind of problem? VLC can play .VOB very well because I have checked. It should be similar to .VOB, but why VRO cannot be recognized by VLC Media Player, it doesn't make any sense. Is there any free and simple method to directly run .VRO file on my PC without using any third-party video conver

Can you record a program and watch live TV at the same time?

If you have a dual receiver, you can record to TV 2 and watch any program on TV 1. If you have 2 recordings taking place at the same time, you can only watch what is being recorded.

With a dual receiver, you can place the receiver in single mode and watch a different program even if 2 recording are taking place. In single mode both TV 1 and TV 2 will be watching the same program.

A solo DVR you can record to tuner 2 and watch what you want on TV 1. With the VIP 622 receiver, you have the Record Plus option, you can have all recording go to TV 2. If 2 recordings take place, then TV 1 and TV 2 are used.

How do i turn on the webcam?

Compaq Presario CQ50-215NR notebook, come with a program called QuickPlay. You can use QuickPlay, a free software program, to play audio and video, to view pictures, and to record videos with your webcam or take pictures.
  • Click on "Start," "All Programs" and "QuickPlay."

  • 2Click on the "Video Icon" that is located on the tool bar of the program, next to the DVD option. Once you've done this you will be able to view yourself on your computer screen.
  • Click on the "Record" button or the "Snapshot" icon to begin using your webcam. The record option will record video, whereas the snapshot will take a picture of yourself using the webcam.

How can I get audio and video out from my tv if it only has audio and video in.I'm trying to connect a dvd recorder to record programs off the tv but tv does'nt have output signal.

connect dvd input cable (three banana plugs red, white, and yellow) to the video and audio output on a vcr, then take a screw on cable from the Ant. to the vcr. you will have to tune the vcr to the programs channel to record the picture. The vcr manual should tell you where the signal will be going, The picture should also go to the tv on ch 3 or 4 as when you play a vcr tape.

Records media but playback has no audio.

Are you absolutely sure that it is receiving an audio signal?
What input are you using? Try recording using alternate inputs.
Audio part of a VCR is normally way more reliable than the video.
The exception is on high-end stereo types where they record the extra audio signals using the video head cylinder in which case it can easily be lost.

    Black screen

80% or more of the issues with your DVR can be resolved by unplugging the box for 90 seconds and plugging it back in. There are some features that will be avilable immediately, and others that will take time to download. IE: all of the quide. I can't stress this enough - reboot your DVR occasionally - just like your computer its hard drive might need this.

I have also seen the hard drive inside this box appear bad when it was actually a problem with one recording. In my case it was a recording on the wrong channel, one that did not broadcast anything in my market. I was unable to access any of my recorded programs and when I tried to play the one in question, the screen went black. I deleted the program and all was well.
