-   My 40" Toshiba has a video horizontal line runnning mid-way across screen. Line is approx. 1/2 inch thick. It looks as though the picture has been compressed by top and bottom black banner boxes.
Sometimes the tube tries to display a full picture (it flickers on-off to half a picture) and on occasion a full picture will appear but usually just the thin is displayed. Sound is fine. -   Guest

What do I press to turn the front panel LED display off when I don't have an index button that the Fine Manual says to use? Any 1080 HD Zenith / LG / Phillips. Actual set is 50PX4DR and is similar for 32-70" for 2000 to 2006.

TV is a [z50px2d]. LG Zenith 50in plasma, Most of screen is dead. I have some pixels on the top and bottom of the screen and they shift occasionally. Sound works, power supply is fine. Red and Green light on my main board. . . Also may have 2 missing super fast recovery rectifiers on the z sustain board and y sustain board. They appear to have fallen off. Would this cause the described problem?

I have a Zenith Z50PX2D and am having problems with the picture. The screen appears to be working just fine but when I turn on the television when it's cold the entire screen will begin black and then slowly recede to show the image behind it. The image is washed out and can be seen fine but there is a lot of ghosting. I was told by a repair person that a couple of boards need to be replaced but it seems that there are 4 boards that are commonly replaced on this system from what I've been reading (y-sus, z-sus, and both top and bottom y-drivers). I'm just looking to see if anyone else had the same problem and what exactly was repaired. I appreciate the help.
