Question about JVC Everio GZ-MG27 Camcorder

1 Answer

Temp warning I'm reasonably confident that there is a temperature sensor, otherwise how would it know? The parts website just covers accessories like batteries, tripods, and cases and such. Nothing about internal circuitry. It's no longer covered under warranty, otherwise it would be easy. I tried the reset thing before, and it doesn't do anything. That's kinda how my luck runs. But, thanks for trying. I appreciate the effort.

Air Temp Sensor should be included
inside the MAF Sensor--- isn't it?

No reason that should be bad

Has it been tested or scan tool data looked at?

You don't change parts on a guess, for no reason

Any codes you may have, got nothing to do with

Which fuse is for temperature gauge on dashboard

  • The temperature gauge is not on a fuse of its own, it would work with all the instruments, ie fuel gauge, warning lights etc. If the temp gauge does not work and the fuel gauge does,, look for the problem elsewhere such as the sender unit on the engine. A quick check is to remove the wire from the sensor unit on the engine and short it out to ground. If the gauge picks up, replace the sensor unit.
  • Otherwise, check the wire itself for breaks, or bad connections.

Is the coolant temperature switch the same as the coolant temp sensor?

There should be two parts - a switch that turns on the Hot warning light or a sensor that works the temp gauge on the dash, and a second sensor for the computer.

Where is the temperature sending unit located on a 2000 chevy s10 2.2 four cylinder engine

The temperature sending unit is screwed into cylinder head. Careful you also have a coolant temperature sensor that threads into intake manifold. Temp sending unit is how your guage knows how hot your engine is. Coolant temp sensor is how your computer knows how hot or cold your engine is, so it can compensate fuel & air mixture. You can not put the wrong one in the wrong place, they will not fit. You change 1 for 1 reason & the other for another reason.

There are two sensors connected to the thermostat housing and i need to know which sensor is which and what they control. on cold days i cant get started

The larger of the two is the coolant temperature sensor. The other is the actual gauge temperature sensor. The coolant temp. sensor gives information to the cars computor & when the car reaches a predetermined temperature, the computor changes the ignition timing allowing the car to run at normal operation temperature settings. The temperature sensor gives info to the dash board gauge &/or temp. warning light. The reason you can't start on cold days is that your coolant temp. sensor is stuck in advanced mode & the timing is to far advanced . To remedy this problem change the coolant sensor. Good luck!

The temperature gauge on my 2002 grand prix dose

the temperature sending unit on a 97 grand prix 3800 gt(which is also the coolant temperature sensor) is not accurate. the sending unit part of this sensor only sends info to the guage on the dash. the coolant sensor part sends info to the computer of the car. it is located under thermostat and somewhat difficult to get at. i had put a brand new one in and my temperature on my dash is all over the place---even with good thermostat and properly bled system. when i hook up a scanner to my computer, the coolant sensor is sending the computer(ecu??) what seems to be the right temp. anywhere from 194 degrees to 217 when hot. the guage however on dash go from 160 to 260 in less than 2 minutes.

Over heating

In general I know of no reason per se to replace the thermostat and temp sensor because you replaced the radiator fan. If the temp gauge seems to be staying in the 1/3-2/3 of full scale, and there is no apparent engine control issues as the engine warms from cold to operating temperature then there is no obvious reason to replace those items. Other than fan motor failure is there any reason for you to believe these other parts are at fault? You can get a free fault code readout at an Autozone parts store which would highlight a temp sensor problem, but there is no fault code for the thermostat except maybe the one for engine running cold for too long a time after start up. You could also check the resistance of the temp sensor which should run around 10-14,000 ohms when cold and drop to 700-1,000 ohms when warmed up.
I don't know about the issue of replacing the thermostat because I don't know which engine you are working with. So let me know an
