Re-solder any bad solder joints on the D board (this board has the convergence IC's on it.) Replace the IC's with either STK392-560, or a better part which is STK392-570 (this part has been said to hold up better over the years).

Use only original SANYO convergence IC's and not the knockoffs made in China. The latter chips will ensure that you will be back inside the set within a month or two! So do yourself a favor, if you see these IC's on the Internet, and they are very cheap...beware. Usually these IC's cost $16 to $20 a piece, NOT less, like the knockoff IC's. There are several fuses around the convergence IC's (board labels PS8001-8006) and one near a transformer labeled PS8007. All of the convergence circuit fuses are 3.1 amps, 125 volts, and are made by Littelfuse (the 316 series) These are hard to find though, but are required for continued protection, i.e. DO NOT replace with a different value.

These fuses look like little resistors, except they are yellow in color, and have "3150" stamped on them. Test these with a DMM (digital multimeter) set to continuity check. If you find any of these fuses bad, please replace ALL 7 of them. Many factors can stress the fuses over the years, although uncommon, they have been known to open themselves for no apparent reason, UNLESS they have been blown by a bad convergence IC. Also, check any resistors around the convergence IC's for any failed ones. Replace them. You may want to obtain a service manual for this TV, as well.
