The standard username and password for linksys routers are admin and admin or possibly a combo of either field blank and the other admin. If that doesn't work then there is a small button in the back next to the ports that you can press with a pin or paper clip. Hold it for at least 15 seconds and that will reset your router to it's default settings including username and password. If you have any questions just post a comment on the question.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

HOW TO SET WIRLESS PASSWORD ??

>first, access your linksys' default gateway by typing 192.168.1.1 on you browser's address bar
>Graphical User Interface (GUI) will be accessed
>Now it will ask you to login by default the Linksys routers uses either "admin" as username and "password" as the password or leave the username blank and type "admin" as password. Not unless you have setup a logon security for your router's configuration. After logging into the router's configuration, go to SECURITY tab, if your wireless connection does ask for a username and password for you to connect then you need to ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) what type of security is compatible with your service will it be WEP,WEP Shared, WPA2 etc...

Now, if you select WEP the password is plainly a 10-digit code, if it's other than WEP then the wireless password has to be a 16-digit Alpha-Numeric code...

Manual says "Enter your user name and password" but doesn't tell you what the default user name and password actually are... Need to know generic log in to set this up

if it asks for a password to get in but doesn't list a password leave them blank. If it is asking you to set a password and name enter whatever you can remember.

Installed netgear dg834g router. Switched off my laptop. When I turned on my laptop windows is now asking for a password and wont let me in.. Never had one before.. Help.

This is not a router question ... if Windows is asking for a password. Unless you mean you are looking at a Netgear Router sign on page asking for a password?

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Please does anyone know the password for the belkin wireless g plus router version 1212uk please help

Which password do you ask? Router's password or wireless security password? For the router's password, by default it is admin in lower case. No username. If you are asking for the wireless security password, you need to login to the router's setup page and get the wireless password

Asking me for wi-fi password

The wifi password is the same as wireless network key (either WPA or WEP key). That's the same password that you used when you tried to connect to the wireless network using your laptop.

Can't remember pass word to get on and we have a new lap top and its asking for a password.

hi welcome to fixya! if your talking about your internet router, the common username and password which the manufacturer usually used is...
username: admin
password: admin

and if it is about your laptop... well... better seeing that person in whom you've bought that laptop and ask the password... or ask for assistance at any service center near you. I'm sure they would love to help you. have a nice day!

Broadband Router is asking for username and password

If you haven't setup a username and password on this router before.

Then it's probably using the factory default username and password, for that visit the manufacturer's website.

If you have setup a username and password before on this router, but forgotten what the password is. Give the router a hard reset. How to do that can be found in the manual.

You are supposed to only type in "admin" for the password, the username isnt necessary. Try it.
