Remove cover on the inside back wall (usually 6 screws). Note frost pattern. (bottom of evaporator coil)
Put refrigerator into defrost cycle and note the defrost heater come on, or not. (careful heater can glow red hot)... Unplug Frige and test defrost components. Replace bad component... You have a bad defrost heater . To access , you will have to remove the inside rear freezer panel . The heater is located at the bottom of the coils . Take your model number when ordering the part so you get the correct part .

Top of freezer is warm and bottom is forming ice. What do I replace?

The cause if no defrost cycle , remove the panel where the ice is and derost with unit unplugged , use a hairdryer or similar to defrost ice , make sure its all defrosted , check the heater under that coil to make sure its still intact.
Also check the defrost timer , there may be a wiring diagram on the back showing where this is located.

Upright Freezer not freezing,

looks like low on freon. that causes freeze up. oddly enough they freeze up when charge is low , just the opposite of what you think they would do. you have a freon leak unfortunately. probably not accessible, and therefore not repairable. i would suggest, cut your losses and buy new. unfortunately for me and all other srevice techs, the days of affordable repair are over, you can now replace cheaper than i can fix and have a warranty and its new... good luck

Frigidaire frostlfree upright freezer ice forming top interior door

Not sealing. warm air hitting cold air causing frost. also, door frame heater may not be working. most frames are "warm" to the touch. normally called an "anti sweat" heater.
