I replace yhe 256mb memory to 2gb but the speed still the same slow.

Unless only one 256-MB memory module is installed, the modules must be installed in identical pairs. If you want 512MB total, you will need to populate by using two identical 256MB modules or use the same technique for larger memory sticks. That model supports up to 4GB ram of the following type;

PC3200 ECC DDR SDRAM DIMMs

I suggest you copy the school papers, and photos to disk/s, or flashdrive/s for safekeeping.
Then work on getting your computer to be faster.

1) A computer starts slowing down in performance once the Harddrive reaches 50 percent full.
You won't really notice until the Harddrive is at 70 percent full, but the computer has been slowing down all along

Remove unnecessary programs you do not use, and applications.
DO NOT remove Windows programs.
Just one's you have loaded from disk, or downloaded from the internet.

Go to Add/Remove Programs, and see if there any that can be deleted.
(Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Add/Remove Programs)

2) Defragment the Harddrive.
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Free up disk space so programs will run faster

3) Clean up the Registry.
Every time you visit a website cookies are put on your harddrive. Tiny pieces of software, but after a while they add up, and take up harddrive space.

There are also fragmented files left behind after you have removed programs, and/or applications.
There are a lot of 'bits and pieces' left behind that are of no use, and take up harddrive space.

Using a Registry cleaner removes these fragments, and helps to speed up your computer's processes.
(Makes the computer faster)

I suggest CCleaner.
Why?
1) It works, and works well.

2) It's FREE. Works as well as paid for versions, and better than some paid for versions.
Don't let the fact that it's free fool you.

Documentation for the Dell Latitude D600 Notebook PC, from Dell Support, indicates the standard amount of ram memory that is installed, is 256MB.

An exaggeration I'll admit, but the performance increase is worth it when using programs, and applications.
On the internet? You'll see an increase in performance, but nothing to really write home to Mom about.

'Optimizer', or 'Performance enhancer', or some other dribble advertised as the 'flavor of the day'?
Naa, I find them costly, and full of beans.

Just use the free software available, and tune your computer up through steps 1 and 2 above ,using what Windows has available.
Keep your money in your pocket, unless more Ram Memory is an affordable option at this time.

The printer is an inkjet printer. Inkjet printers are slow printers compared to laser printers.

Also the print speed depends on the size of the document printed.
If it is a large photo or file, it will take longer than small notepad file.

Speed also depends on coverage. A page with a lot of it covered in ink, will take longer than a page which is only coverd in ink on a small part.

Also the print speed depends on computer memory and USB cable. Fast cable and a lot of memory mean fast transmission of data to the printer.
Slow cable and small amount of memory (512Mb, or 256Mb or less) mean slow transmission of data to printer

I would also advise a little more memory, but i have ran a few pc's with 256mb ram and they where still usable.
Try ebay for older types of memory

Simply, yes you can. just open the case and put in the new boards. you can buy higher spec. memory(as long as the pins are the same number)
I.E. ddr-sdram boards will fit and as long as the speed is the same (132.8 Mhz) or higher.
I changed from 133Mhz to 333Mhz and the performance was much improved.
The PC3200 is the important bit, should be the same.
after you change the memory ,try running disc clean up in "start, all programs, accessories, disc clean up" this will also speed things up as well as de-fragmennting your drive(s)

per manual... camera supports UP TO 256MB... your camera can't recognize a 2gb card.

so u have three chips am i right 1gb+1gb+256mb

basically its RAM compatibility issue check the ram specs is it ddr 2 with the specs that suits ur system or not

if u put 1 gb and 1gb it gives u issues then kindly check the DDR2 PC???? check is it 2100 4200 or 5300 what is ur orig ram rating try the same rating and then check pls also check the bus speed is it 533mhz or 667 or 800mhz

pls only use the compatible ram with ur laptop kingston are good with acer bcoz originally it comes with hynix chip and kingston chips nomally and sometimes samsung chips let me know about the detailed specs of all chips with all digits written on them

Hi, I am assuming that the original piece of memory was a 256mb ddr pc2700/333mhz ?
i have looked at your board on the product maker website and it supports memory to 2gb of pc2100,pc2700/pc3200 type memory. Be certain however that the new piece added is the same clock speed as the original that you are trying to use with it. You cannot mix clock speeds, either pc will not boot or it will only recognise the compatible piece. Have you tried booting with just the new piece 9 leaving out the older piece)if yes what was the result. Need more help ?? [email protected]

PC1600 runs at 200MHZ and PC2100 runs at 266MHZ..

Since your motherboard only supports a max of 266MHZ, I would recommend that. (not to mention that PC1600 is pretty much obsolete)..

2nd, you motherboard supports a MAX of 2GB Total ram.. So, you could install 1GB + 256MB.. But why not go for 2xGB?

The price for a 1GB stick of PC2100 is around $75-125 CAN. Not soo cheap anymore...
