Paper curling due to condensation

Condensation forms and causes the paper to curl and jam the copier. Gets really warm after only making about 5 copies. Is this copier dying, or is there a fixable sloution?

That makes sense but what do you do to fix the problem. I have tried putting in fresh paper but it seems as soon as it is in there for awhile I have the same problem again.

All copiers have thermal fuses that should blow if copier gets too hot,so there's probable nothing wrong with the machine but the paper. When paper gets damp it curls. This is because when the paper feeds through the fuser a combination of heat & pressure dry the paper out causing it to curl!

Paper jam in this position

Open the machine as if you were putting in a new cartridge and remove the jammed paper. You may have to remove the paper tray or duplexer to find more paper.

Reassemble, don't put so much paper into the tray, make sure the paper isn't curled badly. Generally I put the paper in concave down...it will flatten over time.

Perhaps your paper is curled somewhat and is concave up which is causing the jam.

Canon photocopier ir3570 paper is jamming in the fuser unit what could be a problem please help ray

Hi! There is a lot of things that can happen near the fusion stage.
1- the paper is curled due to damp and hits the fusion block.
2- the fusing unit is lacking traction due to damaged gears at the rear end
3- the paper hits a broken scraper (in a set of 3,4,5, or 6), being this the most comun cause
4- The pressure betwin the pressure roller and the fuser roller is weak
5- the paper sensor is broken or damaged, being this one a comun cause too
Now, if the paper goes trough, must be the sensor failure
If the paper gets curled or crumpled BEFORE fusion, then a scraper (or more) is broken
I could be here forever giving other tips, but this are the main ones
I hope it was helpful.
Sorry my english...

Paper jams in the feeder on the left side , tried to opentop cover does not allow me to open back. how do I GET THE ROLLER from curling the paper?

One reason for paper jams is due to some obstructions in the paper path. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Grab a flashlight and look into the paper feeder. Clear the feeder from any foreign objects or debris that could cause "curling" of the paper. If feeder is clear, open the printer cover and ensure the paper path is clear in the cartridge area.
Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, try to print again. If problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Paper jam

You are receiving this error message because there is a paper jam or the top (photo) tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize. This error message can appear for an ESP 7, ESP 9, ESP 7250, or ESP 9250 all-in-one printer.
To resolve a paper jam, we have an easy Step-by-Step Solutions and Repair tool. Within the tool, select All-in-one printer, then Paper jam.

When you clear the paper jam:
  1. Make sure you open the paper output tray and inspect the top tray for photo paper that could be jammed inside or that remains in the nip at the entrance.
  2. Pull out the bottom paper tray and clear any paper jams.
  3. Remove the duplexer from the back of the printer and clear any paper jam.
NOTE: Curled photo paper could induce a paper jam. To prevent curling:
  • Store un-printed paper in a tightly closed plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  • Store sealed packages of paper flat, and not on
  • When you are ready to print, take only the paper intend to use immediately.
To remove curl in photo paper:
  1. Place the paper in a plastic bag or in its original packaging.
  2. Gently bend the paper in the opposite direction of the curl, then insert it into a tube-a paper towel tube works well.

NOTE: The tube should be larger than 1.5 in. (4 cm) in diameter.
  3. After a few minutes, remove the paper from the tube.
  4. Remove the paper from the plastic bag or packaging.
  5. Verify that the curl has been removed from the paper. Repeat the steps above if necessary.
If the top paper tray is not securely in position and the printer cannot initialize (you may hear a grinding noise, and the top paper tray will not open), contact Kodak.

I have an HP Photosmart C6150 All-in-One and when I try to print, the paper gets stuck every time. It looks like it doesn't feed all of the way through, The paper kindof curls under instead of over and...

If the paper is curling, it may because of humidity. Try flipping the paper over in the tray (so it's upside down). Does that make a difference?

Paper is not coming through printer and it comes out curled up

Please make sure that any rollers near the exit tray are clean and gripping the paper. The same is true for any paper feed rollers under the cartridge.

Paper jam due to water condensation in fuser unit Optra C710

The problem is that you have paper that contains too much moisture. (I bet it's been in the printer for a long time and has absorbed moisture form the atmosphere.. has it been rainy lately? When the moist paper gets heated in the fuser, the excess moisture turns to steam which then condenses back to water
on paper guides etc. Your diagnosis that the water is causing the jam is correct.. Try using some dry paper and it should be fine.

Paper curl

When a paper jam occurs, the printer will stop printing and the Continue (1) and Paper Jam (2) lights on the operator panel will come on. See the illustration below.
pattlnk_1052005_1635-enus20238_oppaneljamlights_e230_en_us.gif When you experience a paper jam, it is recommended that you check and clear the entire paper path. To clear a paper jam, do the following:
  1. If you are feeding paper from a paper tray, first remove the tray. Look for and remove any jammed or damaged paper you find.

    pattlnk_1052005_1636-enus20238_removepaperjam_e230_en_us.gif
  2. Open the front cover and remove the print cartridge assembly.

    IMPORTANT!
Do not leave the print cartridge assembly exposed to direct light, especially sunlight, for an extended period of time. Extended exposure to light will damage the green photoconductor roller and cause print quality problems.

    pattlnk_1052005_1639-enus20238_removecartridge_e230_en_us.gif
  3. Remove any paper you find jammed in the area behind the print cartridge assembly.

    pattlnk_1052005_1645-enus20238_removepaperjam2_e230_en_us.gif
  4. Also lift the flap at the front of the printer and remove any paper you find jammed beneath the flap.

    pattlnk_1052005_1646-enus20238_removepaperjam3_e230_en_us.gif
  5. Open the rear exit door/cover of the printer and remove any jammed paper you find there.

    pattlnk_1052005_1647-enus20238_removepaperjamrear_e230_en_us.gif
  6. Once you have confirmed that the entire paper path is clear, reinstall the print cartridge assembly. Close all the printer covers/doors. Reinstall any paper trays you removed.
  7. Press the Continue button to resume printing. NOTE: The printer should reprint the page(s) that caused the paper jam.
  8. If the paper continues to jam, press the Continue button twice quickly while the Continue and Paper Jam lights are on. This will cause the operator panel to display the secondary error paper jam light sequence. The secondary error code will tell you where the printer thinks the problem has arisen. For more information, see the 'Secondary Error Codes' section on page 69 of the User's Guide.

Curled corner causing a paper jam

Try replacing all paper. Sometimes paper that is overly humid or has gotten wet will curl. Replace with new paper and report results.
