Question about Audio & Video Receivers

1 Answer

I have a Westinghouse tube radio, AM/FM table model, uses a selenium rectifier. I need a schematic for this radio, do not have a model number, but chassis number is 240635. Would appreciate your help.

    Robotek,

Thanks for your reply, the 240635 is stamped on the chassis and is identified as a chassis number. This radio is in a plastic case and the model number appeared to be on the bottom of the radio in paper, but the attached (glued) paper has been removed. Where would I be able to find a schematic with this limited information.

Thanks for your help and I hope you have a sterling day,

    driggins

Hi driggins

Wondering if that may be the serial number that you have quoted. Most Westinghouse radios that I have been able to find are allocated model numbers as WRXXX
If it has a solid state rectifier then it will be post war vintage at least.

Are there any other identifying marks on the radio?

robotek

I guess that I wonder what you are needing the schematic for? MOst vintage Tube circuits are relatively the same. Fault finding comes down to experience with what voltages you see where. In general, if it is in original condition, it will have many leaky paper/wax capacitors, composite carbon resistors that may have doubled in value. These are generally the things that stop these old girls from working. Are you wishing to restore the radio?

Fm radio works fine but the dab will not find any stations, I have tried different aerials and still no good

What's the make & model of the radio?
Most DAB/FM radios work from the same antenna, so if you receive FM stations, you should receive DAB stations in your area.
It should be noted that DAB transmitters work on lower power than conventional FM transmitters, and so you may be in a weak reception area (for DAB). It should also be noted that DAB uses different frequencies than regular FM stations and household appliances such as laptops,WiFi, microwave ovens, etc can affect DAb reception.

I need the schematic diagram for an antique radio RCA VICTOR model A25 made in Montreal circa 1941

I wasn't able to find information for the A25 specifically, however, there are a LOT of antique RCA Victor (US and Canadian) schematics here:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/

Do you have any more details about the radio? An alternate model number perhaps?

Please rate this answer if helpful.

Sansui s-x 700 no fm reception only noise

i have a sx700 sansui receiver, that the receiver is working fine.
My problem is on the amplifier section
Do you have a schematic diagram ?
Beeing an old amateur radio technician, that is, working with sophisticated receivers don´t see any problem to help you.
It is my oopinion however that unless I can have a copy of the complete schematic diagram it will be impossibleto start giving you ideas
Can you provide me a coopy of the schematic diagram
And tell me if the amplifier section is working fine and also (very important) if other frequencies, excluding fm are working.
Thank you inadvance,

Can't Get A Radio Signal When I Connect A Cox Cable

Hi...
Some cable companies dont put the FM band on cable and some others put an FM trap (which kills the FM band) in line with the cable.
One of those is your problem.
You'll need to buy a FM antenna
