Hello! For these issues, here are a few simple steps:

First, for the DVR recording shows, you just need to delete those timers. They may have accidentally been set up.
1. Menu, 7-Daily Schedule
2. Timers
3. Edit list
4. Select any timers that you did not create, or want deleted. This will stop them from recording!

For the program guide:
You just need to download the program guide. Here's a couple easy ways:
First way:
1. Pull up the Guide
2. Press 999 then the right arrow button (Browse) until the guide prompts a download,

Second way:
1. Pull up a menu. Press 6 (Sys setup) -1(Installation) - 1( Point dish)
2. Highlight and select Check Switch on the upper right
3. Select test at the bottom left. (If a message comes up between steps 2 and 3, select yes. )
4. Press VIew live tv, and allow the Acquiring signal message and the guide download to go through.

I hope these steps help!!!

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. The only way to remedy the "No Info Available", if the hard reset (unplugging from power for 10 seconds) doesn't resolve, is to do a "Check Switch Test". Press the "Menu" button, then "6", "1", "1" and it will take you to "Point Dish" screen. Select "Check Switch", it will then take you to "Installation Summary", select "Test". Allow the test to run. It will pull up a screen "Please wait while your switch installation is checked". It will go away when done. **IF you get an "836" message "The check switch test has found you have fewer Satellites then previously detected" DO NOT SAVE RESULTS and call Dish Network, as a technician visit will need to be scheduled. Otherwise cancel all the way out to "015" message and let it download. The next message is 330 and that will download the program guide. This will resolve the first issue and then you will need to check the timers. The DVR will not record something that is not programmed but if you are still having an issue, just let us know! I hope this helps you!!

Why dose recording in dvr goes on default date when light goes

Well, I'm trying to decipher this. Why does the recording in DVR revert to the default (date/time???) when the light goes off and comes back on.

I'm guessing you are trying to say time, not date, maybe day?

The DVR is trying to remember when a show comes on and record it, based on your settings. Usually shows come on at a specific time. DVRs usually update their scheduled recordings based on updated programming guide information. If you are constantly unplugging or causing your receiver to otherwise restart, most receivers will download an updated guide upon getting power back or restarting (DVRs themselves not having any idea how long they've been without power, download a new guide just in case after you unplugged them you moved to Arizona). During this time, the recording you set is showing the original time you set it up, because until the guide is downloaded, it has no idea that its wrong.

My best advice, even if I'm wrong about our language barrier here, stop unplugging your receiver. Leave it plugged in and powered at all times.

All times.

For ever.

How do I record a show using my DVR and i-Guide?

There are multiple ways to do this:
  1. Press the RECORD button on your remote control while watching a program to begin recording. An overlay will appear on your screen to let you know you have started recording.
  2. From the TV listings grid, highlight the show you want to record and press the Record button.
  3. From any program information screen, highlight the Record icon and press the OK/Select button on your remote to schedule a recording. Follow the on-screen prompts for additional recording options.
Manually schedule a recording for a specific time or channel:
  1. Press the MENU button on your remote control then select the DVR icon.
  2. Or, if available, press the My DVR button on your remote control.
  3. Select the start time, end time and day that you want to record.
  4. Press Confirm.
  5. In the channel list that appears, select the channel to record from.
  6. Select Record to confirm your settings or select Recording Options for additional options.

Dual transmitter DVR has stopped recording on TV2. Programs are set to record, the guide shows that they are being recorded. They are listed in the to record list, but they are not in the list of...

Hi, my name is Cheri Torres and I am with DISH Network Customer Service. I have never heard of receiver only recording on one tuner but not on the other but I would like to see if we can find a solution for you. The first step to try in order to resolve your issue is make sure that you do not have any timers conflicting with each other. If you do have two different timers that are set to record at the same time it can cause the DVR to record one show and not the other. Another trouble shooting step to try is a hard reset by unplugging your receiver for ten seconds then plugging the cord back in. After you have allowed your DISH receiver to reset try your DVR recording functions again. If both of these options are not correcting the problem please feel free to email me at [email protected] so that I can ask you a few more questions about your issue and get this resolved for you as soon as possible. Thanks and have a great day! :)

Dish DVR recording shows that haven't been programmed to record

This may be caused by as many as three variables.

The first would be that if your neighbor has Dish Network and they have their TV2 near yours it could be picking up their recording preferences. This would create a recording specific to let's say MONSTER TRUCKS.

The next is if you notice MONSTER TRUCKS when trying to view an intended recording at the beginniong or end of the desired recording. This can occur if the start time an end time for your recordings have been set to begin before your intended recording and end after the intended program completed. You can edit this by pressing the DVR button, my recordings, schedule, timers, pick a recording from the list and press select, now press options and you will see the timer options which will allow you to manipulate the start early time and end late time among other things.

Lastly is that your program guide is out of date or the guide is totally errant. Unplug the receiver from the wall for a minute and repower it. This will force the system to update itself if it is not intefered with during this process. If after this procedure the same issue is occurring and the guide says the program you want recorded but retrurns an unwanted one then the guide is corrupted on the Dish Network side and will be repaired as soon as possible.

I hope this assists you. Thanks fornusing Fix Ya.

Every program scheduled to record starts and ends five minutes early? So the end of the preceding program is recorded and the end of the selected program is cut off.

BigBillO,

One of the options for the DVR recordings is starting and ending before the program starts and ends. You can change this setting to your preference. To change , press the DVR button 2 times on your DISH remote. This will bring up the "My Recordings" screen on your TV. Go to "Schedule" button on the right side of the screen. Press select. You should be on the "Daily Schedule" screen. Go to "Timers" button on the right of the screen. Press select. You are now on the "Timers List" screen. Select one of the programs scheduled to be recorded and press "Select". You are now on the "Timer Schedule" screen. Go to "Options" button and press select. You are now on the "Timer Options" screen. This is the screen you can set your preference for the "start early" and "stop late" settings. Be sure to select the "Set as System Default" if you want to apply this setting to all your recordings. I hope this helps.

Doesn't stop recording

Make sure there is no time overlap on any of the programs you have on the recorder.

That is the most likely problem

DVR records blocks for 4-6 hours

If you have no manual timers with extended timers then replace the unit. That will eliminate the issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
