Question about NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Wireless Router (WPN824NAR)

Hi - I have the NETGEAR wireless router, but I cannot get my laptop connected, I keep getting the 'wireless network unavailable' the router was installed by Best Buy's Geek squad (in 2006) and this is the first rime I have had a problem, I looked under programs and did not see a program so I am not sure if I should have an Icon - which I do not - do I need to reload the software from the CD?

    What type of wireless adapter/recievers are you using on the laptop(built-in or a PCMCIA/USB adapter)?



    Check if the wireless/WLAN LED is lighted up on the router if not there is a great possibility that the wireless broadcast had been disabled.

Can't get wnce2001 netgear adapter to work. Also have netgear wnr2000 router. Push and connect, I do have all green lights, but samsung tv states service is unavailable due to network interference.


I have a netgear wnce2001 universal internet adapter. It was previously configured to the wireless internet in home to work with Xbox. Just yesterday the WLAN line went out. Hooked ethernet and USB cable up to computer. Proceeded to the netgear wizard to reconnect adapter to network. Got as for as step 3 and then told that there is difficulty connecting to the existing network. Does anyone have any suggestions to help solve my current problem? How can I reconnect?

Wireless Router to Computer connection problem


Look underneath the bottom of the laptop. HP is known for putting the wireless toggle switch under the laptop, to keep it out of the way. But that also keeps people from finding the switch to wireless, from wired.
I'd bet your laptop works if plugged into the network with an RJ45 cable.

Can't connect to netwoork


Just configure the wireless settings your laptop. Go to Network Connections > Right-click on Wireless Network > Properties. Go to Wireless Network tab and look for Preferred Networks. Just remove all of them and click OK.

Now, On the Network Connections, right-click on Wireless Network Connection > View Available Wireless Networks. Connect to your own wireless network and enter your wireless network key if it tells you to type it. That should fix your wireless connection. Now if your wireless network is not showing, you need to change the wireless channel of your router by accessing the router's setup page using your wired computer.

did you install the modem software and the router software? you may also want to use the network wizard to see what it tells you. are you wired or wireless at the pc? if a laptop, did you install the wireless connection (either a usb or internal)?

This really happen when you run the setup CD of a router sometimes it will tell you that there's no internet connection on your network but the truth there is so if you still need further help for this since the router is new better call Netgear and let them hel you all the way in configuring this router this is the complete list of phone number for Netgear tech support just check the linkfor it

Try these:

1. Go to CONTROL PANEL > MANAGE WIRELESS NETWORKS
2. Remove all the preferred networks
3. Restart your laptop
4. Reconnect to your network

Verification and signal problems


Hi Sir F,

You don't need to do a re-install of the DLink WiFi adaptor since I believe it is running as it should (as you posted). All that is needed is to configure it to exclusively select only your NetGear WiFi Router. This could be done in the DLInk Wizard (Start/All Programs/DLink.../) set the DLInk to connect only to the SSID of your NetGear. Though it may pick up your neighbors WiFi, the DLink will only acknowledge the presence of the other WiFi but connect only and always to the NetGear.

A couple of other things that may help improve your WiFi connection. Use static IP add in your PC to match that of the NetGear, disable wireless security (WEP or WPA) but rather enable MAC filter and input that of your PC's WiFi Networking Card.

Should you need a more detailed instructions, pls post back the model of your router and the make/model of your PC as well as your OS.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Problems connecting to the internet with my wireless laptop


At the bottom right hand corner of your screen, you have a wireless conenction icon. right click and view available wireless network...if you see your network there. connect to that network, if secured, then call netgear to verfiy what is your network key. if it is unsecure then you can log on right away.
