Pin coushion adjustment

I'm not sure if it is the pincoushion, the sides of the tv curve inwards. Where or how would I adjust this?

If the set was good before, and is now having pin distortion, this is a failure in the pin amp section. It is not an adjustment.Your set is uPC controled, and any change in performance is due to something defective. The uPC system will keep your set adjusted properly. When it can no longer do this, then there is a fault condition.

A TV service tech who is familiar with your set should be able to fix this for you. There will be a number of small components that have to be changed in order to make the set work properly again.

Picture is squished in from the sides. Sides are curved inward like a fat hourglass. Vertical setting seems okay. Is there a horizontal adjustment somewhere? or is the issue more complex

Unfortunately from your description this a complex issue and cannot be adjusted out. The cause is a shorted winding in the horizontal section of the yoke, or the high voltage capacitor has decreased in value causing the hourglass effect, depending on the problem will dicktate cost to repair, I suggest an estimate before a decision is made, and if the set is more than five to ten years old consideration should be given in a replacement.

The picture on the tv is curved in the middle sides if the screen how do i fix it to where the picture fills the whole screen?

Their are pincushion circuits the compensate for inward curvature. It is common for solder connections to break on the pincushion transformers or the connections where the transformer wire is wrapped around the connector pin. Careful inspection under a magnifying glass while manipulating the pin sometime will show hairline cracks in the solder. Their are also adjustments on the convergence board that will compensate. The adjustment potentiometers on the convergence board also have shown to be prone to solder cracking on the PC board

Vertical pinch on left hand side of crt

You mean the picture on the left side is curved out? Or is it restricted to the very top and very bottom?
If you have the curve problem, look in the menu and see if there is a pincushion control and a pin cushion balance. Adjust the balance until both sides curve the same, then adjust the pin cushion control to remove the curve.
If you are only having the problem in the corners, look in the menu for a corner correction control and play around with it to see if it corrects your problem. If the monitor has no OSD (on-screen-display), then it may be too old to have these controls. You may have to open the unit and see if there are any physical adjustments (little potientiometers). You might want to leave this to someone who knows what they are doing since the high voltage circuit can have 25-35 kV. Considering the price of CRT monitors, you might be able to find a new one for under $50.

Vertical hold will adjust the frequency (refresh) which would remedy it if the picture was rolling. I had to open up my TV (not recommended unless you know what you're doing) and adjust a "pot" which will adjust your screen's hourglass problem. I hope this helps.

Convergence problem

Hi there!
You would need the manual to adjust the convergence. First to correct the curving and then to line up the colours. Not too sure wether you need a service remote or the one that came with the set. If no adjustment takes place when you adjust, replace the Convergence Amp IC'S. Good luck,JUS004

Loewe TV with pin cushion distortion

Yes if you could give me a model #, it is probably a diode shorted in pincushion area, or a capacitor.
