Just replace the ignighter it dont get 110 its the way its designed for the safty valve if it dont glow 99percent of the time its bad and even if it does glow it still can be bad as its has to use so many amps for the safty valve to open

does the igniter glow? If not check for 110 volts at igniter .
Check for 110 volts at gas valve if no volts check hi limit thermostat , operating thermostat, safety switch on motor,
the coils on the valve & the timer contacts that feed the voltage to the burner.

On a whirlpool clothes dryer I have no heat but I tested for power at both terminals on element and I have 110 volts on both wires going in and element tests proper 10 ohms resistance

Hi,

You need to have 220-240 volts across the two ends...you can have 110v on each end becuase it feeds through the element...

Ignitor does not glow

the flame sensor rarely goes bad
if the ignitor is not glowing
then thats the problem
take an amp reading it shoud be between
2.7 and 3.6 out of that range it will not glow
if your not getting a reading you need to chase your voltage l1 is you most likely culprit

Whirlpool lg9521xt gas dryer- no heat or flame. I replaced thermal fuse and coil kit, but didn't solve problem. What's next ? The igniter ?

Remove the bottom panel and start dryer . If you see the red glow , then ignitor is ok . Disconnect the plug (2 or 3 wires ) going to the burner and check for 120 volts . If no red glow , replace the ignitor pt # 279311 . If not 120 volts , then , normally , thermal fuse is bad (white piece with 2 small terminals on blower box ) is bad .

Gas dryer won't heat up

The ignitor can glow and still be defective.
Take a volt meter and check for power at the gas valve while calling for heat.
If you have voltage, replace the coils again.
No voltage, replace the ignitor and flame sensor.

New off the showroom floor whirlpool estate dryer, worked fine for a while, now it won't ignite, what do I do?

most likely, either your ignitor is bad, your thermal fuse is bad, or your coil set is bad. if your ignitor glows but the gas does not turn on, then your coil set is bad and the other 2 parts are good. Joe
