If the amplifier is powering, but no sound, try disconnecting the speaker outputs from the amplifier and connecting a test speaker to the output channel. If you get sound, then one of the speakers in the car may be bad or shorted out. That can be confirmed with a voltmeter. If still no sound, then you need to check the input to the amplifier. Disconnecting the RCA cable from the input and testing that with an amplified speaker like you can get from Radio Shack will allow you to make sure that the amp is getting signal from your radio.

I just got this amp and something burnt up in it how do I fix it?

you probably burnt a transistor (power supply) thats what happened to my amp if you take the cover off the bottom you can see the circuit board and there will be these little black things with three legs on them, they will probably be melted and burn marks
you will have to send it in for repairs unless you can find a shop that repairs amplifiers around you
hope this helps!!!

Works for about 3 mins then no sound, the blue illumination light flashes with a slight thud coming from the sub

Remove off all the speaker connections and connect back one at a time. Check if your speaker wires have grounded or short, test the Sub seperately for any fault. If not connect and power. If you notice any distortion then there is a confirmed fault with your mosfet drivers. Make sure the +B and the ground is good when you test. Also if the signal is not distorted from the head set. Check for signs of over heating, if so there could be deteriorisation of the output drives . You must check the juctions of the mosfets for good values or else replace them. It is most possible that the fault must be in the power output than in the pre amps. So please check this out , get a familiar help if your electronics need updation. Helpful I hope. Good day

Amp works fine but the power light is still on after jeep is turned off

Cut the remote positive on your amplifier, install a switch, that's one of the remedy, or you have to make sure that the remote positive of your amplifier is hooked up to the ignigion's positive, this way your amplifier is off soon as you switch off your ignition.

Getting power, but no power to the can you tell if its burnt out?

you can try another amp in place of that one to see if the wiring is okay or get a multimeter and test to see if there is ac voltage coming out of the rca cable. if there is the amp is at fault and will need repair if not then you may have bad rca's of a problem with radio.

Always blows fuses

I would get a volt/ohm/continuity meter to test the connections. You have a short somewhere. You can take it Car Auto or Tweeter and they can check it for you. Some of these places charge a $35.00 diagnostic fee. If you have a schematic diagram, you can test where the short might be.

Car amp

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

Old pioneer GM120 amp

ok first the large red is battery connection, black large is ground find good source to ground, the 0.75 is most likely the power on for the amp you should hook it up to the power antenna wire on the radio. this will turn on the amp when the radio is turned on. the grey green and black are prob speaker hook ups input. the four wires are speaker outs, the red wire might be power for cd changer test it to see if it puts out power when amp is on.
