Question about Acer PC Desktops

I have an Acer Aspire 5520-5908 PC Notebook and I can never get it to wake up. There is nothing wrong with it, almost brand new. I just can't get it to wake up.

Hi my original problem of black screen turned out

Well... if your target is the motherboard replacement (and nothing else is going wrong except of your motherboard),
you don't need to reinstall the OS again (op hard disk).... if your new motherboard is axactly the same brand/model as the old one, nothing more you need to do, but only the to replace the old motherboard by the new one!!!

Upgraded RAM on Acer T135 with 1 GB module. Computer will not turn on, just beeps. All connections are fine. What do I need to do to get computer to recognize the RAM

You either installed the wrong kind, the wrong brand, or to much memory.

So if you did one of these, there is nothing you can do to make it work.

First you should remove it. If you need more help, you need to post
your serial #, because this is the only way the Acer website will allow someone to look at the system spec's of the machine.

If you post back, also post the exact memory you installed,it will look like this,

Example- Crucial-2g-240pin- ddr3 1333(pc3 10600)

Problem with acer aspire t180, SOUNDCARD don't work0.

If running XP:

Two things to check

Open Control Panel and select Sound and Audio. In the new window select the Audio tab and make sure your sound card is selected as the default playback device.

or

Open Computer management, click the plus sign by "Services and applications" and highlight "Services".
Scroll down to Windows audio and check that the service is started.

.Its also possible that a windows update caused this (sometimes malware or virus)

Hope this helps

Acer screen appears and after nothing at all

Yes very possible. More likely is the the BIOS chip is bad. I have seen sites to purchase new BIOS chips on the intenet or contact ACER to if it is cost worthy BIOS chips clip out of the motherboard as a separate item.   Recovery CDs are available from ACER.

Replacing the dvd cd rom in my aspire 5315. Acer sent me a new one and I dont know how to install it

Replacing the drive in a desktop is pretty easy, but the Aspire is a notebook. You put your question in the wrong category. I have opened three or four Notebooks of different brands before, but the key is to find a good disassembly guide. Dell has them on their web site, but I have not found the same thing for the Aspire.
If you repost this question under Notebooks instead of Desktops, someone may be able to help you more.

Loss of graphics - Acer Aspire 3600

Hey there besafe, the problem of your video driver is easily solved. If your computer is new, then you may have the driver CD for the motherboard installation. Alternately you can download the driver from the motherboard manufacturers website, assuming the video is onboard. If it is an installed video card, and you are without the driver disk, you can usually get the specific driver from the manufacturers of the video card website, specific to your OS. These drivers are easy to install therefore the best first step. If that does not work, then look at the hardware. If you have a video card installed, reboot your computer and enable the onboard video. If this works, then your video card may need replacing, preferrably with something having a higher built in memory and more suited to your usage. Hope it helps. Good Luck!
