No sound Recently re instlled windowes xp to my system and have lost all auio. I also have no contoles for the volume. My mother board is a prescott533. Any ideas?

    sounds like you have not instaled onboard audio drivers... prescott 533 tells me the CPU core type and FSb speed but not the make/model of the motherboard. please look at the board and post more details

My window xp lost the sounds


go control panel select audio device d click on it l click on audio watch the default device have like realteck or another .If there is no device re install the audio driver from mother board driver again.after install the driver the problem is same , should go BIOS enable the on board audio device if you use the inbuilt audio.

f you are using windows xp take device manager to get device manager right click the computer icon on the desk top take properties from the click hardware click device manager click the sound vedios and game controller iexpand it by clicking the "+" you will find the detailes of the drivers installed if the sound driver is marked yellow uninstall it and load the drivers once again if the drivers are alreadly installed correctily check the male in conected to the speaker socket of the mother board check the volume contol wether any of the indicators is muted if the problem still presits then the problem is with the audio sockets and the audio ic if its a addon card replace it and check

There is a problem with your sound device so the windows media player cannot play the audio


pl reinstall the drivers from the mother board cd or download it from the manfacture website

Windows xp pro no audio device, lost sound totally


You may have to install the sound drivers provided by the mother board manufacturer. This will get back the sound.
