I have the same problem... The composition of CCDs on several products of different brands have the same problem (heat and humidity will damage the chip). Contact a SERVICE CENTER OF CANON in your area and request instructions. They have to replace/repair their products free of charge to the customers.
I sent an email today to CANON USA requesting instructions.

Good luck!

That's usually the CCD Sensor. If you can take it back to the store since you just bought it, do that and exchange the camera. If they won't help you, get the original receipt and the warranty information and get it to Canon, it should be covered if you didn't cause the problem by dropping it or something down those line. If you're stuck and you have to pay for the repair, go to: www.camerasandparts.com They are about half of what Canon wants and they just specialize in the Canon Powershots. Many professional photographers will tell you they do much better work than Canon too and all for about half the cost. If you don't have a warranty repair, go with: www.camerasandparts.com Otherwise, try the store to see if they'll exchange it or Canon first if you think it's still covered and you have the proof of purchase. Good luck.

My sister gave me her Canon Power Shot A75 camera as she purchased a newer one. However, she couldn't find the manual. How do I view or download a manual for this camera Any help would be greatly...

ah, the A75, great camera with tons of features. I think you'll enjoy it. The quick start guide can be downloaded directly from Canon here. The full user manual can also be downloaded from Canon here.
Also, please see this blog article if you later encounter problems downloading photos to your computer (especially if you are using Windows Vista).

If you can see pictures that you have taken earlier (stored on your memory card), you may have a CCD problem. See this link for information on the problem and contact Canon if you think this is it.

Canon power shot s1 is our camera suddenly ..

It is possible your USB connector has been damaged on the camera. This should be a relatively cheap fix however sometimes the circuit could also be damaged by a spike of power comming from the computer side. If it is found to be the later, you could be up for more than a new camera is worth. I would recommend purchasing a USB Compact Flash card reader to access your images off the card directly. They are relatively cheap to purchase from a computer store and easy to setup. Good luck.
